seriously though EA does suck, but the frantic "DO NOT BUY DO NOT SUPPORT THIS GAMES ETHICS!!!!!" Posts crack me up. It's a toy. Buy it for half off if you want. Who gives a poo poo.

I guess even if multiplayer is hosed forever it still might be worth half off for the single player game? Reviews said it was decent. Edit: it’s not like we’re overflowing with single player Star Wars games right now.

Why not play something you want to play instead of treating games like they are something more important than they are. We aren't talking about healthcare here. By all means if loot boxes are enough to put you off buying it that's a perfectly fine reason not too, but let's stop pretending we are obligated to make some political statement with games purchases or that any sort of solidarity is needed here. People talk about games like are something that actually matter and not literal toys and it's pretty corny.

1 sure wasn’t and in ways I couldn’t really put my finger on, which means no bullet point list of things the sequel improved could win me over. Edit: in the end, the only game of that type I keep coming back to is Battlefield 4.

The loot boxes are there, you just can't buy them, so instead of favoring the wealthy and foolish it only favors the foolish. If you want a good single player shooter play Wolfenstein. If you want a good multiplayer shooter play Titanfall 2 Edit: I was foolish enough to buy SimCity 2013 at release and I eventually got a free copy of Mass Effect 3 from that debacle, lol at EA not even going that far for Battlefront CharlieFoxtrot fucked around with this message at 04:17 on Dec 17, 2017 |

Some Persona 5 thoughts: - Whoever thought about inserting lockpicks in this game should go gently caress themselves - Love how even the non-party members Confidants have neat bonuses now - It's kinda easy? There was one dude on the second Palace that one shot me and the boss of that dungeon was also a bit tricky but unless an enemy gets the element weakness of a party member, I absolutely own them. Just finished Palace 3 tho, so there might be still some challenging foes coming soon. - It kinda sucks that party members join and you gotta build the relationship real quick to get the Baton Pass and other essential skills. Also, I think you can only chat with them after you finish the Palace they joined? - I love the phone and sorting out who I'm going to visit on each day, it's very streamlined, although at this point I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options - The Maid/Teacher plot begins like it's straight out of a porno - Mishima is acting really shady and my guess is that he's the one that rats you out on the in media res opening - Hate how Morgana acts around Takamaki like he's some PUA - I was bummed that I'd not fulfill the Wardens requests anymore because I missed a couple of starter personas that I need for an advanced fusion but I just realized that I can go into Mementos, ambush a shadow and instantly have it join me, no battle required. I need to go down there and bump into a lot of dudes some of these days - I feel like buying new guns is kinda of a waste? They're most useful to me because of shadow's weakness and that's unrelated to strength, all I need is accuracy - I love how the "cursed" items in this game are just grimy clothes, although so far I've completely forgotten to wash any and have no idea if they're actually good. - Is there no way to study or read a book in my room? I think I remember that being an option the previous two games but so far I haven't been able to do it here - Endgame question, try to answer this in the least spoiler-ish way possible: Is there a bullshit secret choice I gotta make to get the True TRUE Ending like in P4?

there's a choice but it's not as obtuse as p4's you read at the bar downstairs, not in your room

Like, it looks and sounds like Star Wars, but that's all it has going for it. Like, man, if the Doom 2016 people and Bungie and the Revengeance people teamed up with the sound/visual people from DICE and made a Star Wars game I'd buy it sight unseen, but Battlefront 2 sucks. It may very well be. I was commenting on the frantic tone of people's posts not the actual game. I've only played the first one, but I feel like at least in regards to shooting, it has less to do with Dice and more to do with Star Wars. Shooting usually feels great in their games but I think Battlefront suffered from having to stay true to the source material, and pew pew isn't particularly satisfying compared to the guns of modern games.

A whole lot of people who have played the game are saying "it is a terrible game please don't buy it" I preordered it and I want to warn as many people off of it as possible. I don't know if it's a placebo effect but it feels like they made the base handling and accuracy of all guns in Battlefront 2 worse so that the high-level cards would be a marked improvement

I've put 175 hours into MGSV and it probably breaks down as like 20% farting around with the gun customization menu, 70% goofing off in the open world and kidnapping guys, 10% actually playing the story. I feel ashamed of my words and deeds.

One of my coolest memories of MGSV is from a period when I was just murdering people with a revolver while Quiet killed everyone I didn't. After a big shootout there were on a few guys left, and I scan them and see one of them has sweet stats. Right after I do this, Quiet shoots his helmet off. I don't remember the controls to call Quiet off and I don't have time to fumble around with it before her followup shot kills him. After all, I've been watching her do this the entire time. So I just sprint towards him and bionic punch him. Saved his life. Oh and also rocket punching that smug little poo poo liquid off his dumb chair and skipping his fight all together.

They're treading carefully but they'll definitely find a way to weasel more money out of people, especially with the purchases after this sale. They'll definitely spin it to be a good deal but then compensate for it in another hidden way like lowering the hero cost but quietly lowering the points you get per match cost or w/e Snak posted:Loot boxes asides, I've seen zero evidence that Battlefront 2 is an remotely good game or actually fun to play.

I still maintain that the best SW Battlefronts is the very very first one. It had a different single player campaign for all four factions, avoided the instant 'I win' button of playable heroes, and didn't have the absolutely dogshit space battles of its sequel. Plus it's Bespin maps were top tier and I believe it's the only game where I was allowed to death star Kashyyyk into oblivion.

I think that would fall squarely in the "make a small group of nerds really excited category" vs the sell a billion copies category. That VR X wing thing was such a tease. I wish they would make a whole game of that.

Don't get me wrong for the first minute or two it was fun to look around and feel like you're in the Star Wars universe, but yeah.

How was I hyping it? I called it a tease. It's like 15 minutes long it's nothing to get hype about, but it would also be awesome fleshed out into a full game because flying around in star wars vehicles rules and it rules 10x more in VR.

I caved and bought Skyrim on sale and by god, it's a far cry from the PS3 version that soured the experience for me. It looks pretty nice and actually runs at double digit frame rates. I have no idea how my brain handled so much time in the PS3 version.

I've been playing it again in VR, much more thoroughly than I did when it released. And while it's a jankfest pos sometimes, Skyrim really is a a ridiculously fun and ambitious game.
