Also that no kid ever looks forward to spending time with their mom, and how women are making older men have more children. This happening literally like a day or two after he publicly confessed to cheating on his pregnant wife (which for months he had claimed was just an attempt at extortion).

What I want for an iconic Sci-Fi franchise is to use a premise that basically precludes the use of the title item without introducing continuity issues.

I'm assuming that's Stargate Origins? I haven't seen anything about it, but I have no interest in it. It's 10 episodes that are 10 minutes long. They are charging $20 for an all access pass to watch it. What a joke. That's more than a movie ticket. For what is a movie's worth of webisodes.

In better TV news, Netflix has renewed Dark. Which is good because the first season kind of ends on a cliffhanger (although you know the character has to get out of it okay due to time travel) but it would be nice to get some answers about what Claudia was up to.

This looks super extra bad though. As for SNL I love how so many people rag on how much it sucks over the years, it's the TV show equivalent of "I don't even OWN a TV" kind of people who are super eager to tell you that fact. This week's episode sucked. The stand out host for me this year was Chance the Rapper. That guy's got some charisma

I've rarely hated a character like I do Will Gardner. If that was the long game for this show, congrats, because I wanted to punch his face in several seasons before he became an antagonist.

There's no Bob's Burgers thread so I'm here to say this year's Christmas special was so good. Probably a classic like 'Christmas in the Car.' Twinkly Lights is my favourite song the show has ever done.

One day I guess I'll watch the Fast and Furious movies My inlaws bought me (well, us) a Roku for xmas, it's worth it just for Pluto TV alone (yes i know i can watch that in browser too, but it's nice to not have to carry the laptop back and forth to the bedroom)

Two is real bad, but keep going and you won't regret it. The Rock doesn't show up until like 5 iirc. I should have a Roku tomorrow too! The garbage mini pc that ran my bedroom tv started bluscreening as soon as it tries to boot windows.

I was a bit miffed that the show wasn't one self-contained season, and the finale raised more questions than it answered. I feel like it would be appropriate for it to run 3, and only 3 seasons, for REASONS.

It's especially bullshit to call Dwayne Rock Johnson the "biggest star in the world" when you look at his Box Office performance. Four of his top five are Fast & Furious movies - a series he joined WELL after it had become successful - and the other is Disney's Moana. Looking at the back half of his top 10, two are films where he had supporting roles (Get Smart and The Other Guys.) It's slightly better when you look at his worldwide vs. domestic performance, but only just. I don't think he's that big of a box office draw...and I hear about what a charismatic guy he is way more than I see it in action. The real person who needs to be making bank is Dwayne's agent/publicist.

Aside from that entry they were all $100m+ domestically; even the fourth movie made $155m in the US ($200m worldwide) against an $85m budget. I'd put the series' sudden worldwide jolt on the fact that from Fast Five onward they became exceptionally big, loud, exciting movies with 9-figure budgets, copious amounts of location filming and sprawling, multicultural casts before I would "oh, that's when Dwayne got in them."

Bit more than a jolt, it went from a series doing about $200 million a movie to over a billion. There were lots of reasons for it though, yeah. Mostly the huge action and the whole cast I agree. Just a bit of a stretch to say it was a success before the Rock joined and he was jumping on an already huge thing
