A cop from another agency saw it, ran in to assist, tased the man, and he died in our custody due to someone else's taser.  Guess who paid out in the lawsuit?

I love the way Christmas brings people together. Idiot bought a pistol as an Xmas gift to himself. Brought it to his girlfriend's parents' house (unbeknownst to them) and shot himself while he was trying to unload it. He then asked responding officers not to tell the homeowners what happened. For some reason, they don't trust him. He's hospitalized, the homeowners are banning him from the house, and their daughter is furious because her boyfriend isn't welcome anymore. The idea that she or her parents might have been shot because of her boyfriend's idiocy doesn't seem to have crossed her mind. I'm fairly sure this will turn into a domestic as soon as the last officer leaves the scene. It's the most wonderful time of the year.
