Season 5 releases tomorrow, with a wealth of balance changes and dedicated servers. It's a great game. $40 CAD for the game and season pass is a great deal. Maybe don't buy the season pass just yet though - it unlocks all the dlc heroes who you otherwise have to pay for, but try the regular version first and see how you like it. The DLC heroes aren't crazy overpowered compared to the main cast.

^^ closer to thirty but it's a $10 delta either way Yeah the game was a bit rough when it launched but honestly post launch support has been great. And there's still genuinely no other game quite like it, at least not with the same production values! I'm happy it's popularized the concept of 3D fighting games without fighting game type combos  The team's a tad slow at implementing balance changes, but that poo poo takes time. What platform are you playing on?

Huh, checked out the season 5 patch notes, this might make me come back actually. I somehow fell in love with the Kensei but uuuh, it was a bit rough before. Now that they are reworking the class it might not feel like hitting your head against a wall repeatedly!

Huh. there definitely used to be one, but I don't see it on mine anymore either. Not sure there's really a huge goon population left though. What's your uplay? I mostly play on PS4 but started on PC. There's no bonus to lcharacter level progression for the knight characters if you pick the knight faction or anything like that. It's worth noting that with season 5 you'll get more experience, steel, or uh, more troops I think if you control certain territories in the faction war, but no it doesn't really matter in general. Knights are definitely the best though.

Oh yeah the game is fun and I fire it up for a couple rounds every few days but prepare to lose a lot until you develop the muscle memory to mash the guard break button as soon as your opponent does so that you can escape the guard break.

I was wrong about that unfortunately! Season 5 is releasing today, dedicated servers come online on the 19th. The open beta for the dedicated servers went really well though

Came back to the game today with a few friends to try it out and it's still every bit as fun-strating as last time, getting back into the flow was iffy at first but I picked it up fairly quickly. I'd say I'm below average when it comes to this game and I was being matchmade against people who I actually stood a chance against which was a nice surprise - I'd assumed that only a hardcore playerbase was left so I'd be trounced at every turn. I mean, I then ran up against a prestige 89 dude who took on three of us without an issue so it's not perfect, but it's not bad either I only play Warden and I have no clue what to do against flying neck-biting shamans, their leap attack seems to span half a map and comes out ridiculously fast

The fat man is not the strongest hero by any means and he's also one of the few heros you have to play very defensively with. Your parry game needs to be on point, and being good about reading your opponents is critical. Trying out the new kensei and honestly not in love. Simple enough to understand - your top heavy can be cancelled into literally anything else, but I find it so hard to play well using him. Shame too - maybe I'll finally put my efforts into learning the Warden though! I've always loved her customizations at higher levels but never got great at the vortex. Lawbringer is still bae though

I'm really glad that a parry no longer chains into a free guard break. I feel like I can actually throw out attacks and not get immediately destroyed for it.

I can't play this game anymore. It doesn't suck I just lost all my understanding of how to win fights and the new party mechanics are conflicting with months of muscle memory. I'm a mess at this now at it's very frustrating. Getting absolutely slaughtered with champs I was king with. I'm not angry they changed things and I'm glad people are coming back but dammit change is hard!

Yeah the patch they put out last week totally changed berserker along with conquerer and kensei to make them all a lot better, and smaller changes to nobushi and highlander.

Zerk got a huge rework, gains uninterruptible hyper armor on light chains and heavy chain finishers are unblockable. YouTube up some videos to get an idea. Centurion blows now btw. New Kensei owns along with the new parry/GB mechanics. He might be the best 1v1 hero now, no joke. His mix ups are insane.
