Tried Steep Winter Games Edition since I got my money's worth out of Steep and it's still 900p/30fps garbage despite multiple sources (including the official list) saying it was X enhanced. All they added was HDR on Dec 5th. The official list needs to have all the details that Digital Foundry gives us so we can make our own decisions instead of having to scavenge for reliable info. DF didn't cover Steep Winter Games Edition so there's no info anywhere. Good thing Amazon has a flexible return policy. If all new AAA games aren't REALLY X enhanced I'll be going back to PC, despite preferring the xbox experience otherwise.

The USB adapter needed to connect the Kinect to an Xbox One S or Xbox One S has been discontinued and is no longer being manufactured. If you're looking to pick one up to play such hits as Fighter Within, Dance Central Spotlight, FRU, Shape Up or Zoo Tycoon, or play launch titles like Ryse: Son of Rome the way they were meant to played, now is the time to pick one up.

I've completely stopped playing ps4 and PC myself. Only keeping ps4 for tlou2, and maybe god of war, days gone, spiderman and detroit. PC is only for cities skylines and as plan b if x enhancements aren't consistent. But I'm also moving across the world in 2019 so I gotta figure out what the hell I'm gonna do with all these gadgets.

Just get rid of the desktop and go for a laptop if space is a consideration. I am really enjoying my Xbonx as well. The only problem is there are like 20 Japanese who own one so multiplayer tends to include pings of 300 or more to Sydney.

Online coop would be laggy (lol at dedicated servers for it) so probably wouldnt work great. Its a cool game but beating it just made me glad i can play other things cause it has some annoying things about it that im glad are over.

Tomb raider is awesome on the Xbonx. High performance mode changed the game for me and it still looks great, super weird playing something like that at 60fps on a console. Hopefully more X enhanced games let you switch between fancy graphics and fps boost.

I still have my 1tb 7200 external on my xbonx, should I move load intensive games back to the internal memory?

I got the one-x for christmas. I've been playing through rise of the tomb raider and gears 4. They look awesome on my 65" 4k OLED! Games are fun too, I forgot how much I like Gears and picking up where I left off in Tomb Raider has been fun. I bought forza 7 too which is pretty, but I'm kind of regretting it, since I've never liked racing games much. What kind of hard drives are you guys buying? Just some USB laptop drive? It's quickly becoming apparent that the TB it comes with is not enough.

I don't think you can end up in a situation where an external will be worse than the internal, so if it's slim pickings a 5400 RPM isn't the end of the world, but you'll get the greatest load time reduction if you get a 7200 RPM one with its own AC power.

I gotta say NBA 2k18 is still really really impressive. The microtransaction bullshit was helped by getting 100,000 VC with the $40 legendary edition, which got me straight to 74 overall in mycareer. The cut scenes have actually made me laugh several times, while in previous games they were only laughable in a bad way. And the presentation continues to improve despite being far and away the best in sports games already. The commentary is unbelievably good sometimes. Any problems with regional accounts or electrical on xbox/ps4/pc after moving? I'm not coming back to Canada. My 40 year old one bedroom condo is worth $500,000 now, went up $56,000 this year alone according to official assessment (lowball), so I'm cashing out before it all comes crashing down and makes 2008 Florida look like nothing.

UnfortunateSexFart posted:Any problems with regional accounts or electrical on xbox/ps4/pc after moving? The short answer is "probably not" but it really depends a lot on where you're planning to move to. Also as someone who's done moves across the ocean you REALLY want to minimize what you bring and any opportunity you can have to get rid of something to replace it in the new country you should take. And what citizenship(s) do you have, because that and where you're moving to (and what you plan to do professionally once there) are going to be pretty major factors in terms of how long you'll be able to stay in the new country.

If you're moving Canada to Japan your electrical situation will be totally fine for any modern console, PC, monitor or TV, so don't worry about that. The Xbone is essentially region-free though you might have some issues with 360 and original Xbox disc-based backwards compatibility, not that you're likely to find much in the way of used Xbox games in Japan to start with...

From what I recall there are no region locks on the Bone/x backwards compatibility, you can pretty much go hog wild (but some discs might be language-locked, I have some French 360 stuff that behaves this way). Japan's got a slightly lower voltage than the US/Canada (100V vs 120V) but not enough to disturb most things, just some devices like heaters won't have the same oomph. Also having a proper ground prong on an outlet is somewhat rare there (if there's ground it's usually a screw and you have a wire that hooks onto it), it's mostly 2 prongs only, so you might need some simple adapters or shenanigans with getting the right kind of power strip when you're there to deal with it. That said if they're looking to move to Japan permanently While I'd normally give someone the benefit of the doubt here, without knowing their electrical system I'm not sure what you're expecting moving there (if you meant some other country you can disregard). ^^^ IIRC it's from an ad for a vinyl something. It was part of a "new avatar" thread. univbee fucked around with this message at 20:38 on Jan 3, 2018 |

If you've got PR sorted then you're all set, enjoy your Bonx adventures! By and large you should be good with PC and big consoles if you don't take my advice to re-buy. You'll just need simple plug adapters, their two prongs are at a 45 degree angle in opposite directions and not parallel, and they have some fuckery with the ground for safety reasons because their 220V aren't to be trifled with. The PC's PSU will have a big switch on it you'll have to flip so it knows to expect 220V. I'm pretty sure they haven't done any serious IP blocking yet, although they've been pretty gung-ho about censoring games there even after the 18+ rating was approved. Don't try to bring a physical copy of Mortal Kombat into the country. I think XBL lets you change associated country if that's a thing you want to do. PSN you would have to roll a new account to do that.

PC PSUs tend to not even need you to fli[ a switch anymore, the power supply autodetects.

My honest opinion, flip your consoles/games and add your earnings to the money pile. If you get an itch for the games again, gently caress it, re-buy the consoles locally so they'll have all the right cables and re-download all your poo poo.

you could just buy a replacement PSU for your xbone if its not already an autoswitching one (I havent checked). best case a lot of stuff just needs a new IEC/kettle lead that fits our wall plugs. most stuff I have bought in AU in the last 8-10 years has been auto switching 100v-240v or has a selector switch on the PSU for it. globalising a product saves the manufacturer hundreds of thousands of dollars and it can be done with the electronics now so they all do it. I usually get a EU/US/AU IEC lead with any device ive purchased that requires AC power. which is funny because its apparently cheaper to add 2 extra cables to a box and ship the extra weight than it is to manufacture and pack for different regions.

Re7 is fun for almost the whole way. Ending is kinda lame shooting gallery after all the good survival and monsters chasing you earlier Ew2 is different. Its a re4 style game rather than an re1 style game. Much more combat focus, larger area of play-not focused on one place, Intentionally feels stiff to play to heighten danger. Both are good.
