I would not be surprised if Caddy goes with the new replacement for the LT5 next year though, especially if the other Prototype teams step up their game. They're cooking up a DOHC V8 project under wraps for their top line Corvette for next year, and what better way to sell a bunch of sports cars than say you're buying a race car engine in your street car?

Was in the 30's when the session started and its in the 40s now. Teams were looking through the rulebook to see if IMSA had a minimum track temperature rule, even. So like 11 cars that are there haven't run, including the Mazdas.

The roar is ultimate sandbagging. Remember last year the fastest cars at the roar was the Rebellion. I can 1000% guarantee you that Penske learned from what Ganassi did with the GT, and has shown none of their hand. At all.

They're using the lap times at the Roar to determine pit box order for the 24 so there is some incentive to actually try to set honest times. You're definitely right about the weather being a wildcard though.

Man, the Eurosport1 announcer/coverage for Dakar is god awful. It was like getting talked at by someone watching it live with you who doesnt even like the sport. Also they didnt even show the results of the stage? The satellite feed announcer is better if you are looking to download a copy from a CERTAIN website. Also the RedBull TV coverage is actually pretty good, minus the dubstep.
