Fallout 2 did the same thing much earlier, surely they could've done something like that. You still fight the bosses second phase, though, which felt like a tad bit of a lame cop-out.

Which, I guess, say something about feeling the need for something more substantial than 'talking the bad guy out of it'-- at least for me. Because I like the idea of it but I don't think I'd ever go with it in a combat focused game, and haven't, even in the very rare times it has been possible.

Basically, it should have been the initial warning to everyone that Mass Effect 3 was not going to pan out the way they thought it would.

The games are developed by Nippon Ichi Software, though that name might be attributed to Atlus USA's localization team. If I remember right, the Prinny games are akin to the Ghost & Goblin games.
