Edit: To be clear I do not like how Dave is handling this one bit, but some of the accusations about what he's said are unfair. Same with Bix getting pre-emptively dragged last night. Edge and Christian both sounded like they were trying to like the Jericho-Omega match but not quite getting to it when they discussed it. It was kind of weird. Like they expected the fans to expect them to like it but weren't crazy about it themselves and mostly just spent time pointing out what they were critical of in a careful way

I think the worst thing Meltzer has done was when he largely dismissed the accusations against Honma as not being that big a deal, with (from memory) his reasoning being that since the Japanese media weren't really covering it then there can't have been all that much to it.Aesop Poprock posted:Edge and Christian both sounded like they were trying to like the Jericho-Omega match but not quite getting to it when they discussed it. The Observer that week had a pretty big write up on the whole story. Seemed like a lot of people listened to WOR and decided that's all the coverage there was.

Like Omega/Okada I is undeniable (II and III require backstory imo) but Omega/Jericho was a really good match made great by the build and Kenny's slow burn face turn. Another good example of wrestlers not getting it because they don't watch outside of PPVs for review purposes is Killing the Town hating Black/Velveteen Dream because they didn't understand half of the interactions in the match and then Lance Storm seemed to take the "say my name" as an actual stipulation.

Be extremely careful with episodes featuring Damian Abraham. He's not exactly annoying to listen to but tends to clutter his appearances with personal stories that can occupy up to about a third of the runtime, and the review always takes forever to start. But their shiniest gem is their live commentary of Chyna's wrestling porno (Queen of the Ring iirc). Every Review-a-Wai is available for free at http://lawradio.proboards.com (click Episode Archives) but access to Rewind-a-Wai requires you to support their Patreon.
