Nobody likes molson. It's just something you drink to get drunk. There's no enjoyment in any of their products. A buddy of mine is a rep with Molsons and cannot drink a non-molsons product in public as part of his job. That makes me sad.

Meh. Granville Island Brewing is owned by Molson, and it's fine, if forgettable. Cue the people that are still angry about the acquisition and then descent into mediocrity

I am extraordinarily happy that there is a brewery not 3 blocks away that supplies my local. Yellowhead Brewery is serviceable as beer goes, but at least it's local.

Granville is Molson? Dang. Oh well, still won't stop me drinking their Winter Ale. MA-Horus posted:Nobody likes molson. It's just something you drink to get drunk. There's no enjoyment in any of their products. My friend works for Coke and he half-jokingly has told me that he can NOT ever be found drinking Pepsi products. Not just Pepsi proper (hey, that'd make a good drink name) but even Tropicana or Gatorade. Not sure if it extends to food. Whenever I think of Coke bros and Pepsi guys meeting I think of the anchor fights from Anchorman.

Basic workers/human rights should totally forbid any contracts that tell you what products you can or can't be seen with outside of working hours.

I think the punishment for Torres is excessive. The guy who hit Jacques Parizeau in the face with a cream pie received 60 hours of community service, for example. Two people charged for pieing Stéphane Dion got the same. The kid who pied Chrétien got 30 days jail. Pieing poses a much greater risk of inflicting serious injury than throwing a little ball of paper at someone. Would Torres have been so harshly dealt with if he were white, like the above mentioned perps? I think it's a fair question to ask. Definitely indicates a harsh authoritarian trend in Quebec

E: the guy did an assault, the police charged him with assault, he pled guilty to assault and the judge met in the middle of what crown and defense were asking for. The Butcher posted:I'm sorry for starting beer derail #4081. The problem is a lot of "weird stuff" is not appropriate for drinking simply to quench one's thirst. I don't know why more craft breweries don't make and market a beautiful pilsner- or kolsch-style beer, or a nice Maibock, or that sort of thing. Phillips Analog 74 is loving amazing, but no one carries it because they'd rather have market the "gently caress your face and rear end in a top hat with hops motherfucker!!!!" beer from 10 different breweries -- and Phillips indulges them by making stupid dumb poo poo for garbage assholes like the "Hop Box" sampler pack of a bunch of different IPAs no sane person needs. Every guy I've ever seen crushing Kootenay Ale can be easily, easily tempted to pretty much any good beer in a lighter style. Anyway, that is my rant about beer for the day.

Mmm refreshing, thirst-quenching hops. Yum! There are good and bad IPAs. Pine-like hops are an acquired (and weird taste). If you feel adventurous, try spruce beer (with or without alcohol) next time you're in Montreal. There's plenty of other delicious beers. No need to hate. Except the Keg and chain restaurants.
