That's a Warlord from a third party seller, not an Imperator. It's in the style of the Lucius pattern Warlords that featured in Epic 40k-- also, if it was an Imperator, it'd be markedly taller, feature a second row of back mounted weapons batteries and a large defense laser mounted in a central hardpoint on the back (from the top, the hard points on the upper carapace of an Imperator are arranged like the five pips on a die). The chassis alone is around 500 euros, with the weapons being bought as extras. I think the whole thing is worth around 700 euros or so.

I haven't played the current edition, but back when I did, a Warlord was around 2500 points.

That's the old Nurgle baneblade variant from the first Apocalypse book, although I'm surprised to see anyone making one in 2018.

Started out as one then became the other due to poor maintenance practices. :vomarine:

Yeah they got the scaling on that one a bit off. The Lucius Warlords are taller than usual because of the casemates its carapace weapons are mounted in, but that's still close to a foot taller than it ought to be.

I like how the person who did the one on top probably thinks it's looking like a cool overhead swing when the arm is swung so far back that it's actually an uppercut which goes against the rest of the model's flow.

It's Adepticon Titanicus. I think they just use 40k rules, it's just on the floor and using exclusively titans and Knights.

Whelp, there was a wave of planes like this tested during WWII by nearly all participants. I can't remember the rationale but i guess there's a reason they stopped trying.

The idea mostly had to do with taking an existing platform (cheap!) and giving it a longer range by virtue of having twice as many fuel tanks. The F-82 Twin Mustang was probably the only bird of its kind to see action, mostly in a ground attack/CAS/spotter-marker role in the Korean War.

Also the heavy/strategic fighter concept was born of a time when single seat fighters had poor performance, so aside from needing the range to escort bombers, it was expected they would be far too powerful for single seat planes, and only enemy heavy fighters would be able to engage them.

Then of course single seat fighter development caught up, and heavy fighters were so overwhelmingly outclassed that they were withdrawn from frontline service, and by pure accident of existing design meeting new necessity became night fighters, with the exception of the P-38 Lightning which remained in use for the vast distances of the Pacific, and in Europe until the P-47 and P-51 could meet the range requirement.

Why they tried again with the F-82 and Bf 109Z I don't know.
