I'm sure direct proof, shown in REAL TIME, of market manipulation where $100 mil of tether appeared out of nowhere RIGHT during a price crash to suddenly set up buy orders across exchanges as soon as $10K mark was reached, will convince people that Bitcoin is currently operating as a ponzi.

HAHAHAHAHHA YEAH RIGHT. Keep investing. Mr Ham Sammich will surely come back into the thread super quick to explain how because only 1 major exchange uses tether, it's not a ponzi, because he surely understands financial arbitrage and ability to move BTC across exchanges really well.

The goal of this minigame is to collect as many coins as possible by smashing the Brick Blocks that contains them. Despite what the rules states, all the players win the minigame as long as they collect one coin.

There are three types of blocks in this minigame:

The first type is the usual Brick Block that contains nothing and is destroyed when hit.
The second type contains a single coin and transforms into a Used Block when hit.
The third type contains multiple coins. It may be hit until it is empty, then turning into a Used Block.

Three rows of Brick Blocks move from left to right. They can also be used as platforms to reach higher blocks. The three rows of blocks stop moving occasionally and start moving in the opposite direction a few seconds later. If players step off one side of the screen, they will appear on the other side in a similar way to Mario Bros. gameplay.

The players perform their victory animations. If the player(s) don't collect a coin, they do losing animation.

My favorite is the guys who divide tether’s market cap by the total market cap for all cryptos and come to the conclusion that the impact is less than 1%.

As bullish as I am on cryptocurrency long-term, Tether needs to go before there’s any point buying fully in, and the sophistication of the scheme means that it can potentially go on for a very long time.

A lot of indicators pointing to a possibly rally. Too soon to say though.

People don't care if fake USD are propping it up as long as numbers go up.

The total market cap is a pointless metric since I'm betting about 60-80% of the coins are lost. How about comparing it to something like the number of coins that have active sell orders or the unique coins that have moved in the past year or so?

The big thing with tether injections is that it slows down the rate of margin calls.

Or they're using margin call profits to back tether, which be a different hilarious scam

They’re probably just backing tether with itself.

Oh I distributed $5m USDt? Well I’m holding an equivalent amount ($5m USDt) in reserve so don’t worry!

Nah, but Internet libertarians are the most obnoxious people on the planet and don't want their pet project to fail. Plus they have illegal fraud pumps keeping it from failing. Crypto might be the biggest ponzi scheme the world has ever seen.

I'm basing it off some momentum trendlines.

Bitcoin GPU mining (SHA256) is dead, but all those altcoins popped up using different algorithms, many of which can be efficiently done only by GPUs. Altcoins exploded with the Bitcoin bubble, and it became very profitable to mine again. Before today, a GTX 1070 could do about $7/day, and a 1080 Ti could do about $10-12, meaning the GPU could pay itself off within a couple months. Which lead to people building $4000+ mining rigs and stuffing every GPU they can buy into them, especially cost efficient ones like the 1070.

People don't seem to internalize that the dot com bust took years to reach the bottom, and there were big and small rallies all the way down, some of them months long

Sure, bitcoin is moving a lot faster, but it's not a one shot overnight thing. Bitcoin has been crashing for a month and it probably will be crashing for months. It could rally for a week in that time and still be crashing overall, it could crawl back up 20% and still be crashing. It already did rally for a week, all the way to $17000, and hey, turns out it's still in the same crash it started after reaching $19000.

The only people who really get rich in the gold rush are selling the shovels, and that's NVIDIA

All the financial geniuses day trading bitcoin or whatever? NVIDIA stock was worth 20 dollars in 2015, and it is worth about 200 now. A cool 1000% increase, not counting if they had any dividends etc. Also when you try to sell it Warren Buffett won't yell at you to HODL and threaten your life on Reddit.
