They still have: Earth, Sol Sytem What a bunch of dummies. Yo intern reading this thread. You top level thing looks like poop when you can't even spell system. On second thought maybe thats why the game is so buggy they have references to sytem in the code everywhere.

But hey, at least you get to vote on the design! And then pay a premium for the shirt! Plus 15 dollars shipping and handling! And sizes above XL cost extra! And I can't wait to meet the concierge specialists. These are the people that get paid to make the whales feel special.

Literally nobody knows how insurance is going to work, and everything is liable to change. It's the beauty of the whole thing. It's hosed every which way until Tuesday. In the Alpha? Where bugs are liable to just blow your ship up? If so All the alpha ships are 100% insured, but you have to wait like half an hour to get one back it they blow up, which happens for random reasons. The interesting thing is that this is what the backers want, they want to be punished in alpha for losing their ships to random bugs, because it helps test the "Insurance mechanics", which are extremely important. Now, get this, it's all *client-based*. It's just a stupid countdown in your own client that prevents you from clicking the button to get your ship back, that's the mechanic! all of it! You can switch servers and get your ship back instantly, you can spoof the "press the button" command and get the ship back instantly, you can mess your system time and get the ship back instantly. Still, the system is in the game so, therefore, it's good.

So the insurance system is basically the airlock that kills you by checking if you have a suit or not, but you can just confuse it by rubbing your butt over the button so fast that it assumes that it's a spacesuit.

MedicineHut posted:Re Crytek suit, I presume Skadden can also opt not to reply to CIG´s defense if they consider there are slim chances of a dismissal, correct? The judge will be ultimately deciding on dismissing or not either way. This points to the difficulty of the motion in practice: you have to assume what the plaintiff says is true ("viewed in the light most favorable to the non-moving party") and claim that there's nothing there for the court to decide, either because it amounts to a legal hill of beans or because it's barred somehow. That burden falls strictly on the defendant since "I have a contract, it broke, I want moneys" is among the most primal of reasons why courts exist in the first place. Since the MtD doesn't actually seem to state why the complaint is fatally defective, uh, I think Crytek is safe.

If your complaint is solid (and Crytek's is) then there's no point in putting in extra work that is redundant at best; you'll be repeating yourself with material that's in the complaint. They even failed to address 2 of the 4 causes of action. And that alone all but guarantees that the judge is going to take one look, and toss the whole thing. Skadden are going to reply to the FKKS word salad. It's coming on Friday. I hear it's loving amazing, and that Ortwin is going to lay an egg when he reads it. Remember, I totally called it. ----------------

I have a stockpile of duplicate games due to Humble Monthly. Sleeping Dogs Tomb Raider (reboot) I would like to give these out, with the rule that you MUST play them and do a 250 word field trip report about why they are better than Star Citizen within ONE WEEK of receiving the code, or toxx. If you're up to the task, post quote:I accept the challenge to explain why I think this free game is better than Star Citizen, I claim [[game name]]!!! If I fail to post my field trip report, Note: 250 words is nothing. About 2x what I wrote here. Thread's getting stale, things need punching up a little. You need PMs for me to send the steam codes. E: to spice it up, the field trip needs a screenshot or two. Xaerael fucked around with this message at 13:27 on Jan 18, 2018 |

Re: insurance stuff, apparently if you're waiting our an insurance times in the PU you also can't use that ship in a different module like Arena Commando. Also I believe there was a bug wherein you in fact could permanently lose your chariot if you hosed up the insurance thingy and you were supposed to contact CS to get it added back to your account.

Well, you deserve it from not being careful about your ship! Entitled, pretend-gamers nowadays are too accustomed to zero consequences for their actions and I, for one, applaud what CIG is doing. That should teach a valuable lesson to those kids. If they don't like it then they can pledge for more than one ship.
