But when it comes to negative campaigning and scandals, that poo poo slides off Republicans easier than Democrats. And it's not like they even try, it just does. Being able to articulate what they want to do is totally inconsequential to winning and the problem is that being "the people who can articulate what they want to do" is how the Democrats want to be defined but that's not what whips up the votes. Being passionate about your idiocy to the point of shouting will always get you more votes than a carefully researched and 100% correct professionally put together Powerpoint presentation which is why hucksters and used care salesmen win.

There are limits to this though. Al Franken and Roy Moore being the most recent. I'm pretty sure the 1b that Trump 'lost' was just because the increased scrutiny had made it obvious he had been puffing his value, and it got recalculated to reflect that. He didn't even lose anything, people just adjusted how full of poo poo he is.

Real math put his net worth at something like 500 million.
