Do you guys think From Other Sun's multiplayer will still be kicking 6 months down the road? I think I'm a bit too busy with Orbus to really give From Other Suns the attention it deserves. Whenever I'm not playing Orbus I'm playing Stand Out, BAM, or Echo Arena.

After having played the first few cases of LA Noire: VR Case Files I can say that it is very, very good. The face technology still holds up today, and these are the most lifelike humans that I have interacted with in VR yet - everyone looks great. You do a range of activities from gunfights to fisticuffs to trawling crime scenes for evidence. You also drive your car between locations and it's a huge amount of fun to go barreling down the wrong side of the street and run down pedestrians in first person. I hadn't played any VR driving games yet (closest was Elite Dangerous) and although I've slammed my car at high speeds into the side of a tram in many games before, doing it in first person is a real experience. I might be enjoying the driving more than anything. One particular moment I was driving over a bridge and turned my head to look at a beautiful nighttime cityscape reflected over the river and I felt like a part of it all.

You can also draw in your notepad with a pencil. You can make gun-fingers at everyone you meet. In a fist fight you can hit people with an open hand which slaps them, and with persistence you can slap criminals unconscious.

Because HTC used a 2.0 cable for some reason.

A USB cable with male A connectors on each end is against USB spec, so you won't find one easily.

Started spending considerable time in Soundboxing. It's one of my favorite uses of VR to date. It doesn't beat some of the more fully interactive stuff or Bridge Crew with 3 other actual friends (one in non-VR) but it's just great.

I just wish the UI was a bit better and it's kinda hard to find things. I'd like more filtering options (please just everything minus the Anime opening music...) and really if I had a dashboard outside the game to manage things in before a play session that'd be even better. So I can quickly set up an evening's playlist ahead of time and jump in. As it is it's becoming one of my preferred evening exercise activities.

Anyone have some top song or user recommendations? Often I see things in the popular category that I think may just be there for the popularity of the song and not for the quality of the actual play.

imo my songs are all at least pretty good, a lot of them are really really good. they are pretty difficult as far as soundboxing goes but if you have a good sense of rhythm you'll be ok i dont do any crazy stuff https://www.soundboxing.co/user/steam/76561197983544073 it doesn't show the full list of created songs in the browser so follow me for the full list in game.

lots of dancy stuff for the most part.

couple random recommendations from the list, from least to most difficult. these should all pretty good, i am going off memory here :)

Sailing The Seven Seas Searching For Scurvy

I managed to convince WMR to set up boundaries. It's super tiny, and I had to try 4 times before it said it was big enough, but it works quite well actually. Some weird glitchyness now and then, but most stuff is working fantastically. I played soundboxing until my weak arms could take no more. Then found out you can buy and install games from inside VR. That could be dangerous.

Space Pirate Trainer is as much fun as I recalled. I'm one of the 12 people who bought Scanner Sombret, and it's really interesting as a VR game. The gimmick works really well with wearing a headset.

Installing all 49GB of Payday 2 again now, gotta give that a try next.

Thanks Protocol7 for this massive list of escape the room games. Looking forward to trying a few of these now!

Hah, I just played that an hour ago. :v: A lot of fun stuff in there. I need to try making some tracks, I know a lot of stuff that seems like it'd be great for this.

I also ordered some 15ft extension cables, I'll report back on how well they work with the Dell WMR set. I'm hoping they'll work, as the 10ft it comes with is entirely too short. I'm not sure where they think people plug these in at. If they're good I think I have a proper full roomscale size space for it.

E: You've got some awesome soundboxing Walrus. I laughed out loud at Started Bot right at the start of The City.

OK after my first six Stand Out matches where I couldn't find any guns, I had three in a row where I did and I came in 3rd twice and 2nd once. Scoped weapons are sooo loving hard to use, maybe I should invest in a pro tube.

I also stole my first weapon, I popped the clip out of someone's gun and dropped it at my feet, then when they bent down to pick that up I took their gun, them someone else blew up our barrel next to us and killed both our dumb asses, GOTY

I didn't play for a long time last night, just four songs or so, but yeah the in-game browser for finding songs didn't seem very well designed.

Can I see other peoples playlists and play them myself? Is there an easier way to find popular songs or anything I should know?

You can find the songs by most plays, although keep in mind many will be dead since the game was most played over 2 years ago. In general no, there is no easy way to find things so best to just find creator you like and playing through their creations.

Once I find a good song I usually click on the players name/avatar that created it. This brings up their 'feed' and I go through their stuff from there. Walrus and cognacat here from the forums are great people to go through.

e: I'll also throw in that the Nightcore "genre", while weeaboo as gently caress, is usually great for soundboxing exercise. Usually always a high bpm, a remix of a song you know, and a lot of them have crazy well-made maps that make you squat and lunge all over the place. Also easy to search, just go after 'nightcore'

I mean if you look under the challenges that are "Most played". In that hopper specifically you'll find most songs are from 1+ years ago since the game was most popular around it's launch and a moderate percentage of those videos have been pulled down. It only happens if you look at most played.

Also just to put myself out there I made a few challenges a long time ago. The genres are not evenly covered so I decided to do some Hall and Oats since I believe at one time they were the best duo of all time.

The tracking is really decent (I had the dell)

You will lose tracking on some stuff but it does compensate really well. Setup was fast. It worked with most games I threw at it.

I would not pay 400 tho.
