The game pass thing is interesting. I had less than zero interest in it before, and don't care much about Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, and State of Decay. But Forza (and I guess Halo and Gears) on game pass makes it a no brainer. I had Sea of Thieves on preorder for $40 cdn, was thinking about trying it for that price, but I guess I'll cancel that now. Can't see how this does anything but make them lose money if you normally buy more than two MS games per year?

Even the ones who do, Gamestop etc. usually gets a cut, so the money on individual game sales is weaker. 3. It lets them use their favorite obfuscation language to hide when a title underperforms, in a way not dissimilar to how Netflix can completely hide any project of theirs that flops behind a vague "look at how many subscribers we have" number.

Im on the last part of ori and its not very fun. I like challenging platformers this is a pretty good challenge not overly hard but the level design and gameplay are pretty weak and hiding behind the great art. Style over substance i suppose. The story is also painfully saccharine. Ill probably get the sequel tho cause its gonna be 20 bucks or whatever and i like hard platforming.

I've been playing it and the two DLCs since April when I got my new PC. It's worth full price easily. And it's nice to have it not crash constantly on xbox.

If horizon 4 is set in japan it gives a lot of credence to that leak list talking about an mmo halo, perfect dark reboot, etc. If not then not i guess. The game pass reveal was predicted by an analyst named daniel ahmed last week in a series of tweets including news that we should expect all upcoming ms studios announcements to be geared towards the next gen but hes vague about what that means and xbox could likely be a windows 10 living room computer by the time anything announced this year is out

They've only added so far so we have to see how often it'll happen. Also, apparently, all 1st party games added are permanent. It's only 3rd party stuff that'll cycle.

I just finished TEW2 and its a good game but holy poo poo it have some massive frame drops even on the Most Powerful Console on Earth: The XBox One X. I was hoping to jump right into RE7 but there's still no One X patch. WTF capcom After that i'll go back and play FH3 for 30 minutes to see the improvements and then RIP xbox see ya on craigslist. OK every new cross platform game is better on X. I tend to play games on release. BF1/RS Siege not having patches is super annoying though.

I turned off v-sync on Siege and it's a pretty steady frame-rate on X, even on T-Hunt. Game would look good in 4k Dynamic though.

Oh yeah frame rate is fine on both, Siege was always 60fps in multiplayer, but 900p looks terrible. Like even the operator icons look like pixelated resized jpegs. And being able to see detail is especially important in both games. The PC version with 4k texture pack looks as good as any new game, and we're going into year 3 with Siege. e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmQ69Qwpv5o A Ubi dev on reddit said a patch was on their to-do list at least, just not high priority.

Good. They've put out AC: O with 4k, I'm pretty sure Far Cry 5 is X Enhanced too. I wonder if devs see a uptick in sales when they release One X patches on not new games? I've seen FH3 pop up on the tile ads as "Enhanced" so I have to assume they see a decent return.

The game pass thing seems like a weird service overall, they've already stopped me from buying some games I otherwise would've paid cash money for, and I'm not sure how that revenue works. On the plus side they did today say that game pass members can also play on PC for those releases that are play anywhere.

As of right now I've played all the games in Game Pass that I would consider playing. The rest are 360 games that I would play for three hours before getting bored because I probably played them 6 years and I just don't have nostalgia for that stuff.

Any thoughts on Monster Hunter? I was semi interested until ACG said it was like Diablo. Doesn't look like Diablo though. Curious what the X enhancements are too since no one is mentioning specifics.

Monster Hunter is effectively a genre unto itself so calling it like Diablo isn't really that accurate. You're put into a zone and have to track down and hunt a giant monster, which is an involved ARPG boss battle and will involve things like the monster fleeing to heal and you having to track it down. So it involves progressively harder and more involved battles and you getting better gear and all that stuff. And most of what you do is really "hunting", you'll do stuff like set traps and follow footprints and the like. Like, imagine if Witcher 3 was specifically designed for involved boss battles with 3 other players, and simulating hunting for sport/meat in a fantasy world and that being all you did in the game. I think this is the first game in that whole genre that's even been on an Xbox before, which is impressive given it's almost as old as the Xbox brand and had its first games on PS2.
