Arsenal’s problems are across the pitch but you can’t deny we haven’t exactly been banging them in for any sustained period this season, the United match being the most acute example of our poor finishing.

Javier Pastore might be going to Inter Milan - he's allegedly agreed to personal terms, but no deal's been struck with PSG yet. Too bad - he was pretty good, but just not Brazilian enough to play for Paris Saint-Germain.

Trust Arsenal to fail to sign a player that is incredibly unsettled at their current club lol

Yeah, it will be pathetic if Arsenal end up with the swap only after all this, and it will all come across as penny pinching bullshit once again. "we tried" is simply not acceptable at this point, pay up or gtfo.

Gonna be mad if this happens. I hope playing in France mad him bad because back in the day he was insanely good.

I want Aubameyang at Chelsea but neither the board or Conte seem interested. Seems like him and Morata up front with Hazard doing whatever he wants would be a pretty good front 3.

Giroud serves a purpose but even less so if you're buying another finisher... I don't see how either side wouldn't realize that and be open to a deal.

I see your point, but on the other hand it seems like Paris is wanting to off-load a bunch of their squad players (ok, only two so far - Lucas Moura and Pastore) to finance Neymar, who wants to go to Madrid anyway lmao

Swansea are trying to send Roque Mesa to Sevilla to free up wages/make themselves look bad, but Las Palmas - who are already in a legal battle with Sevilla over another player - have waded in swinging for the fences claiming to have a first refusal option and that Mesa must come back to them if he leaves.

I think the funniest part of Arsenal trying to purchase Aubameyang is that it (likely) has nothing to do with Wenger lowballing the bid, but Arsenal as a club doing it. They sent Ivan Gazadis, their brand new lawyer contract guy, and their new head of recruitment to go sign him. And thus far managed to do gently caress all other than piss Dortmund off and somehow get Aubameyang to maybe apologize and go back to training with the first team.

Tbf I don’t think it has ever been Wengy doing the lowballing. I would be shocked to find out that any manager had control over how much was spent on a player or actual negotiations. The business end of transfers are handled by money men and executives and not managers.

Apparently Aubameyang is playing this weekend. So I guess that’s that. Shocking, really.

Wengy definitely loves a lowball, that’s not to say I don’t think he has had his hands tied in the past but he definitely doesn’t like paying ‘over the odds’ which isn’t a good philosophy in a market that inflated massively every three years.

Their sporting director just said today that the deal is still on if Arsenal pay their valuation, so it’s not quite dead yet. I’m not real optimistic though.
