0 is a very special score

With the accuracy and distance that the modern international kicker can achieve, 0 is powerful.

Navidi has played well, justified his selection in pretty much every game he has played. Scotland is who they are - agreed that next year will always be their year. Disappointing though.

Scottish lineout is reminding me of the old Welsh lineout, when it used to collapse under no pressure at all.

The consolation makes it less shameful. Just bad now.

Less shameful. Not the sort of absolutely horrifying score that will be talked about for years, just bad like we used to get.

Interested to see how good Jalibert is, talk about going in at the deep end. Think Ireland should win this but if they start this championship like they did the last one it could be a nervy afternoon.

Could someone explain to me (a filthy casual sometime Six Nations watcher) what the deal was with the HIA? Why was it advantageous to France for it to be a HIA as opposed to a normal knee injury?

If it's an injury, they had to use someone else and they'd be without a specialist 9 on the field.

ollie74656 posted:Could someone explain to me (a filthy casual sometime Six Nations watcher) what the deal was with the HIA? Why was it advantageous to France for it to be a HIA as opposed to a normal knee injury? Each team has a limited number of substitutions they can make, and once a player is substituted, they can't return to the game later on. The HIA test was introduced during a big concussion 'scare', and it takes precedence over the substitution rules. If a team's doctor (or in some countries, the referee) are concerned that a player may be concussed, he must leave the field immediately, and can be replaced with any player. France's "thing" is that the French doctors suddenly become very aware of the danger of concussions during the last ten minutes of a match, when bringing a particular player back onto the field would give them a huge advantage. In this case, France didn't have a like-for-like replacement to replace the guy with the knee injury, and would have to bring on one of their remaining substitutes, and play the last ten minutes without a scrum half. Because the French official insisted to the referee that the possibility of a concussion had been discussed, France were instead allowed to replace the injured player with they scrum half they took off earlier in the game, and gained a huge advantage.

Uruguay scores and is up 23-21. Not looking good for Canada. 25-21 with a touchline conversion. Final score: 32-31 for Uruguay, Uruguay qualifies for the World cup and there's a good chance Canada misses. Canada needs to change domestic structures immediately, at this rate it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. sleep with the vicious fucked around with this message at 22:39 on Feb 3, 2018 |
