https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/apple/apple-iboot-source-code-leaked-on-github/ An anonymous user has uploaded what appears to be the source code of iBoot —the iOS secure bootloader— on GitHub, and all evidence suggests the code is authentic. A link to the source code became viral last night on Twitter, and drew Apple's attention, prompting the company to send a DMCA request to GitHub to take down the repository. iOS experts who managed to grab a copy or had a chance to analyze it said the code is from iOS 9.3, released in March 2016.

wonder how much it would mitigate to disable the power-saving features and just run the CPU at 100% at all times presumably you could still cause shifts by throwing the really hot instructions at the CPU but the difference would presumably be less pronounced than going from idle to full.

go compiler invokes host machine's c compiler with insecure flags, allows arbitrary code executionquote:When cgo is enabled, the build step during “go get” invokes the host C compiler, gcc or clang, adding compiler flags specified in the Go source files. Both gcc and clang support a plugin mechanism in which a shared-library plugin is loaded into the compiler, as directed by compiler flags. This means that a Go package repository can contain an attack.so file along with a Go source file that says (for example) // #cgo CFLAGS: -fplugin=attack.so, causing the attack plugin to be loaded into the host C compiler during the build. Gcc and clang plugins are completely unrestricted in their access to the host system.
