Yeah, sorry mate, they’re known to be identical sprues. In the upside though, the FW bits collections look pretty great!

A little. It’s been slow getting started. I’d estimate 4-6 games played so far among a pool of five people. Currently only three fighters have levelled up (and that’s with one player abusing the gently caress out of the Mentor skill) so our fears about slow XP development seem to be fully realised.

I should get a couple of games in this week. Plan is to play it as much as we can during February to expose the weaknesses of the RAW before applying any house rules to adjust and then start a new campaign.

Interesting stuff man. I would have thought the 3 prime candidate house rules would be

1. Pick equipment from the common armoury as well as your house list from the start
2. Models can give up, sell or swap their kit freely between games
3. Experience for every wound caused, after saves (or for every injury roll. Or for each serious injury/OOA. This one could be tweaked a few ways)

In any case let me know how it goes! Still happy to come down and play at your club sometime.

I just built my box of Escher Gangers last night and I really like them. My main complaint had to be that they need more hairstyles. There are like 7 to choose from, which is fantastic, but most of them are a little too specific that the duplication is pretty noticeable.

Super excited to pick up Orlocks.

IIRC he's also the guy that wrote the rules for Betrayal at Calth and Silver Tower as well? Both of those are legitimately great games, it's a shame so many people toss out the game bits of BaC and just use it for 30k without giving it a chance.

Nice use of the Statuesque head. I use one with the same hat as a tank commander.

I'll probably give a few of the Eschers a similar headswap for variety.

I picked it up as a filler game - couldn't beat the Ebay price of $50 shipped for four $28 figures - and read the rules and it seems pretty fun. I picked up the other four hero models and am currently finishing painting them.

Hello! I’m a long-time lurker but I haven’t posted in this thread in a while. I’ll put some of my new Escher models into a separate post, maybe tomorrow or Tuesday.

I just had a baby and, while we aren’t in such financial ruin that I need to stop hobbying, I do need to sell some models in order to keep funding my Necromunda and 30k stuff. Plus, space is kind of at a premium. So, I am selling the following BATTLEFLEET GOTHIC stuff. I live in the US and would like any buyer(s) to cover shipping. If nobody here is interested, I’ll start throwing this on eBay in a few days.

First, I have just a few CRAFTWORLD ELDAR ships. I’m happy to sell these individually because I really don’t give a poo poo about them. I have 1x Wraithship, fully assembled and fully painted by a random eBay person, plus 3x of the little Shadowhunter escorts, loose, and most of the pieces for a 4th (it’s just missing a wing, and anyone not familiar with the fleet probably wouldn’t notice). These are all extremely rare models, and I haven’t seen them on eBay for quite some time. About a year ago, I sold a NIB Wraithship for $60 on eBay. Asking $50 for this one and $30 for the escorts, or best offer.

Second, I have a SPACE MARINES fleet (Dark Angels successor):

Painted:
Battle Barge
3x Strike Cruisers
3x Gladius
4x Hunter
10x Thunderhawks (genuine FW resin; I put them on 25mm bases but one came off at some point)
Asking $200 for the lot if it goes intact to a good goon home. I’m willing to break it up, but the lot price is definitely discounted.

Unpainted Used (not pictured, mostly assembled)
2x Strike Cruisers (loose, unassembled)
6x Firestorms (primed)
6x Swords (primed)
4x Cobras
Some Ork capital ship bits I was going to use for Roks or a Space Hulk
$150 or best offer for the lot, but I’m happy to break it up and sell individual models at or below eBay prices.

Finally, new in blister, I have:
Craftworld Eldar Dragonship - $75
Monitor & System Ships - $30

Pm me with questions or offers! I’m going to work on painting a Ganger with a shotgun now.

Also, how is the 30k thread on SA if you frequent it? I'm as critical of Age of Darkness rules as I was of 7e, so I shouldn't visit threads were people enjoy that completely and spend days talking about optimal powergaming lists.

It’s a good thread, but also a small enough collection of people that a lot of us have turn into real-life friends (to be fair, several started out that way). We all spend a lot of time in the 30k Slackchat, have little contests and challenges, and just had a meet up slash Zone Mortalis game at LVO. There’s some tongue-in-cheek pretense at powergaming, but we’re almost all in it for the narrative and aesthetics. Plus, many/most of us play 8th Ed and non-GW games as well, so we’re very aware of 30k’s mechanical flaws even though we love it.

I already have about 2k points of fully painted Sons of Horus and a pile of unpainted/WIP, but I want to have enough money by the end of the year for a Thunderhawk. :3:

30k is the complete alternative universe compared to 7th 40k. It's all about cool poo poo, cool armies, narrative games and having fun. Come into the thread without those preconceptions m'lord.

Also while 7th has its issues I maintain that a lot of 40ks problems were generated by the army lists rather than the core. :shobon:

EDIT: Please don't miss that the ejection port also faces directly into the marines face. The entire front of the weapon is flipped.

That was their excuse, yeah. Though they called it a red dot sight which set off gun :spergin:s something fierce.

There was even a fake e-mail someone made with FW saying that it was a screw-up and that they'd replace the kits (they've only been available pre-release at the recent Weekender so hardly a large quantity). Sadly, it wasn't real.
