Can you really call a four wheeled vehicle a trike? Imagine how big of a boob you'd look like riding that thing.

Do that with an MP3 and make the world's first 5-wheeled trike.

600 seems like a steal for that. I'd totally snap it up if it was anywhere nearby. The battery cradle looks... unsubstantial, though.

How much do you think it weighs?

Jazzzzz
May 16, 2002
I can't tell what model of batteries those are, but Interstate's website lists weights between 20 and 40lbs for their Megatron II (hah) series. That could be 200lbs of batteries there.

My guess is "heavy as gently caress"

It has a 72v dc motor, the weight is about the same as with and engine due to the batteries being lead acid as opposed to li ion.  Top speed is around 45-50.

There's no loving way the I4 that came out of that bike weighs 200lbs. Even saving 30lbs of weight from gas and oil he's full of poo poo

That looks like a ninja 250 which weighs 300 lb dry, 370 wet. "weighs about the same" is plausible.

I was thinking ZX6R or something similar. Did the 250 come with dual discs?

Slide Hammer
May 15, 2009

The 250 didn't come with dual discs.

That bike might feel heavier though, due to half of the batteries being higher up in the frame than most of the engine.

RC-51 up for sale in Tallahassee, FL. I've never laid eyes on it but the dude's posts in the local FB motorcycle make him out to be a pretty decent dude and the kind to actually care for a bike like this properly. I'm eyeballing the BMW in the driveway and wondering how much I could get for it but that probably won't happen before someone grabs this bike.

There is probably a lot more wrong with this bike but a $700 '87 VFR 700 F with plugged jets seems like a good deal. Especially in the Bay Area.

I've seen some stickers that just won't come off without ripping like a shipping label on a box. I think Continental or Metzeler is the worst offender with this poo poo. Don't think I've ever seen it with Shinkos like his though, and I work with those all the time.

My newbie rider co-worker buddy found it while browsing for his first bike. We agreed it would be too maintenance intensive, even if it came to him in perfect working order. He's pretty set on a dual-sport, supermoto, or standard, with ABS and fuel injection for his first bike. He's so reasonable about it, it's nearly uncanny after reading all of the horror stories about other folks' first bikes.

I started with a 1987 Yamaha FJ-1200, rode it back and forth to high school and work. I was a big kid, played football, and rode dirtbikes since the age of 6, and also owned a Honda CR480R at the time. Some people just have the chops for motorcycling, some don't.
