I had a wet palette in a foil baking tin and I kept inside a Ziplock bag and it lasted for days. It probably would've lasted longer, but I bought an airtight Hefty container and I presume it'll last almost indefinitely. My friend told me that his friend puts a few drops of thinner (maybe Lahmian Medium?) in his Citadel paint pots along with a stainless steel ball bearing and it keeps it well-thinned and stops it from gooping up with a few shakes. I could see it working, but you don't get to mix colors of course unless you do it on a dry palette.

I know he uses the Citadel dry palette pads, but every video I can see wasted dry paint on the palette. He might use one privately, but they're not going to use anything in the videos that they don't make. There's no way he uses those palette pads in real life. He did recommend Microsol and Set at Nova, but made sure no one from marketing was around first.

While we were all a flutter over the butt plug painting handles, I'm proud to share the fruit of my internet spelunking, and present to you the painting cock rings: I rather like the idea of the tiny magnetised painting tray. Probably make one or two for myself eventually, once I have some hardwood. (Found on Twitter, at 蟹倶楽部@WF 4-12-02 (@charr_001): https://twitter.com/charr_001?s=09 . The crab club is selling them at the winter festival model show but I don't know if it's available online/gave up on reading awful auto translations)

If you've been listening to the Badcast, then you know that I've been threatening to get a new phone for a while now. And if you're not listening to the Badcast, then I suggest you do so. Well, I got my new phone, and that means model pictures. Here's the Raven Guard I've been working on:

Cleaned up and then pinned my first metal mini today. Learned the side cutters I've got are crap and I need some https://www.amazon.com/KNIPEX-78-61...L70_&dpSrc=srch power to actually cut the stainless steel wire for the pins. That is if something like that can cut through stainless steel alright.

What are you pinning that needs stainless steel wire? Brass wire should be fine for any normal project.

I vastly prefer using guitar string for pinning infantry-sized models since it's really easy to get super-thin ones and it "springs" back into shape a lot better than brass, which I feel like is probably beneficial(?). Brass rod is my go-to for bigger joins, though.

Safety Factor posted:These are great. The highlights are really clean which is critical for good-looking black armor. You've really nailed it and the greys you've chosen give it a matte effect which is perfect for Raven Guard. Personally, I like using a blue-grey for the first layer to give a slightly glossy/polished effect, but that wouldn't suit things here. Yes it is, from the Raven Guard Legion transfer sheet from FW.

Chaos guy is awesome. That helmet is creepy in a good way. Crossposting from the Oath thread. This thing needed work when I got it. It was a rescue from eBay I got for $15. So much scraping mold lines and gap filling. The autocannon barrel was off center by like 1/16". I had to ad-hoc some sponsons because the old ones were no where to be found. So I used some spare lascannons from a Razorback kit. I'm pretty happy with the end result. Floppychop posted:Oath Complete

Carburetor cleaner will strip anything off metal. It will also turn plastic into slimey goop and it will destroy your skin. Use with caution.
