Game is a bit broken on 144Hz Gsync monitors if you turn off v-sync and leave it at uncapped framerate -- super fast menu cycling, delayed sfx at time, etc. Enabling 60fps lock and v-sync on seems to fix the issue.

Same thing happened with CS1 and durante eventually fixed the fast menu cycling but things were still kinda busted in other ways. Also I tend to turn g-sync off for falcom games in general since map transitions stutter sometimes when the refresh rate wildly swings from 60 to 12 to back to 60 (or in trails in the sky's case, 125 to 20 to back to 125)

Yeah, in the first game, voice clips in battle couldn't be longer than the Japanese versions, so sometimes the characters hadtosaythingsreallyfast. For 2, XSEED managed to get Falcom to get that bit of programming done so the actors could set their own pace.

Game is great so far. Anyone able to bind turbo to right trigger using an xbox controller? I can't seem to get it working but it does seem to work on other buttons like right stick click.

You can remap things, it's in the config menu before you open the game. I've set Turbo to R2 on my Dualshock 3. Also game is still good even if it's not as optimised and I had to drop to console quality.

Okay I finished the prologue of Cold Steel II. Unfortunately, I failed to find the book chapter which I'm SURE should be here. I talked to everyone twice at both opportunities, and I just did it again to make doubly sure. Maybe there isn't one? - Vita showed up? Well, so long Valimar, I guess. Looks like The Thors staff and students are being enough trouble that they get their own guerrilla group nickname! - I really like the image from the opening movie where Machias and Elliot are in a room and he's cleaning his gun. It really paints a great picture of a rag-tag bunch of rebels fighting a near-hopeless cause. Questions: 1) DID I miss a book in Ymir? 2) There are accessories with "part of a set". Do those work in the same way as in CS 1, or is the part of a set thing only because they also show up in the trading stores? (Where you can trade the whole set for a new item.) Fwiw I set CS 1 to max but locked the framerate at 60 and only had issues if I got a little hasty with the turbo button, game would slowdown a bit but nothing major. And Dark Matter's suction effect wouldn't work if I skipped it .

For example, the Sepith Up effect doesn't seem to work right if you skip animations, though I'm not 100% sure on the details.

CS 2, Act 1 (Part 1?) - I do appreciate when characters in-game ask the same questions I'm asking, like "if this thing is so important, why hasn't Clotilde come to steal or break Valimar?" - Magic teleportation things? (Cold Steel 1 LP) So... Ewie was RIGHT about the freaky statues? I guess it's not too much more of a stretch, given the devices in the Old Schoolhouse. - I realize that redoing art design to reflect changing seasons is hard work, but if this is what December looks like, seasons can't be much of a thing. - I liked the clever puzzle map. It looks just innocuous enough that any enemy would overlook it if they aren't looking for it. - Nice reunion scene. - Yes, it is a good idea to disguise yourself by taking off your glasses, Machias. A better idea might be to take off your red and gold armband painting you as a member of the Horned Lions resistance forces. Just you know, throwing that idea out there. - I am far too easily amused. I controlled Machias and deliberately walked him into doorjambs, walls and people. Because he can't see. - I actually like the justification for doing sidequests in this game more than I the one in CS 1. It makes a great deal of sense. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any more of those plant things even though declining the "go back to town" option implied there might be more (Got to go for the bonus AP!). I'll just assume that there aren't any more to find. - I found Black Records 2 at a shop. Does that mean I missed Black Records 1 somewhere? It can't be. I guess we just get these out of order.
