Oh poo poo you are right. It used to come on a 50x100 chariot base, and the new chariot base is the 120mm oval, so that would be my guess too.

Just who the hell do you think we are?

Let me rephrase that: I'll pick up the 120 from someone other than GW, because it's out of stock, of course.

Going bigger for monsters and heroes is generally accepted. For circle bases you can just go with the next size up (eg. 50mm square monster on 60mm circle) but ovals aren’t as straightforward. Dragons and some big things look better on fatter 120mm, but chariots don’t.

I recently put my death heroes on 32mm rounds so that they stand out and look more heroic.

I really just loving hate the existence of oval bases in general, but that's whatever. I want to put my heroes on more scenic bases, but, well, TLoS

I just give my opponents the benefit of the doubt for scenic bases. Anything on the base is invisible or part of the model for LoS.

THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!
I have Alarielle, 4 treelords, 4 Branchwyches, 64 Dryads, 5 Tree Revenants, 12 Kurnoth Hunters, and 5 Citadel Woods. The only things assembled are Alarielle, 2 Branchwyches, and 40 Dryads.

Are there any powerful builds for Sylvaneth currently? It seems the dramatic point cost increases for batallions and Kurnoth Hunters really hurt them.

I am going to have about a month to work on this stuff. Any suggestions of what to build out or thing I need? I was thinking 2 Ancients, Durthu, and a Treelord for my big boys.

I kinda wish books were coming out faster in general.

I want a Skaven book, not a specific clan book. I'm hoping the new Legions of Nagash is how things will be done in the future.

I think that Skyre, Moulder and Eshin could support their own books if they're fleshed out enough. Skyre tesla troopers, Moulder mutant beastmasters, and Eshin ninja clans all sound like great starting points for a model line.

Sure, but you could put all of those into one book. How many Allegiances does Legions of Nagash have? Either way, I think it'd be better to have a generic Skaven allegiance that you can branch out into specialist allegiances from there. It's already annoying that Pestilens is it's own book. I think that should be the case for every faction, though.

Yeah, after Legions of Nagash, I want to see more generalized battletomes like that one. Skaven are a prime example.

I've got a feeling we might see that for the legacy armies but I've got a feeling we'll still get the 3-4 new models + 5-6 old models structure we saw in Sylvaneth and are seeing in Daughters of Khaine.

I kinda like that the armies are so limited in scope, way more than I expected too. Helps work to keep the game sizes lower, but also playing really big games becomes more about forces working together to fight the big battle rather than just a horde of the same basic stuff.

I like it as well because having smaller factions, but more of them is an interesting idea for a wargame. That they use the overarching grand alliances to tie the disparate factions into four groups is actually a pretty genius way of providing new releases while combating future bloat.

Yeah, I do like the idea of having loads of mini-factions of like, half a dozen units, but I wish that, when battletomes come out, they cover a general theme. So instead of Battletome: Ironjawz, Battletome: Bonesplitterz etc, there'd be a Battletome: Orruks, and stuff like that.

I think I'd like it more if any one of these three were the case;

1. I didn't have a sizable Dark Elf army before AoS
2. There was a consistent power level in the allegiance abilities so that I didn't have to accept a lesser power level to field that army
3. The Dark Elf factions weren't broken up by theme with no regard for battlefield role or synergy.

The city state rules from the campaign helped this a bit, and I would be thrilled if the cities were expanded on in a Battletome Death style book.

See, and the third one can easily be solved by a generic Battletome: Dark Elves with a generic allegiance ability as well as allegiances and lists for specific sub-factions.

lmao RIP

A buddy of mine is getting the High Elf halves of two of the Spire of Dawn boxes so at least he's got a decent battalion to use in exchange for not having an allegiance ability.

Scenery? Some weird Realm Gate? It's too dilapidated to be any sort of addition an an army. It's also definitely got fish molded into it, and I doubt they are ghost fish, so that implies that it's still underwater.

Thanks! I haven't considered the fluff of my army fully but I just went for a fairly traditional look. I'll probably make their big beasties more striking.

Reminds me a lot of the Heldenhammer from Dreadfleet, albeit wrecked up and sunken.

Could be a new unit for undead pirates, some sort of big ghost boat? It's painted up in a single highlighted colour in a manner very reminiscent of GW's style for spirits. If it were simply terrain I'm sure they'd have picked out the details in different colours etc.

There are a lot of ways you can go with fishmen

MTG Merfolk, Lovecraft Deep Ones, or Disney mermaids

its not a concept that is limited to a certain tone
