Okay I have to give credit to Telus here, they backed down on the rate change after the immense backlash from literally every single public mobile customer. Either the numerous crtc complaints worked, or the pr hit was too strong, but they backed out about a day later

Yinlock posted:ok i can't exactly blame them but what do they think the libs are going to accomplish Libs have at least done some boots on the street stuff like the minimum wage increase, the sex Ed changes and so on. I was specifically mentioning the LGBT activist worker someone else touched on running against Horwath in Hamilton Center above (turns out it was in gray forum CanPol). Now that Cheri DiNovo has retired there’s not actually much in the NDP nothingness of a platform for people looking for better queer rights. The NDP could be doing something but they’re doing nothing. The Liberals have actually been doing something even if it’s not everything. Arivia has issued a correction as of 09:10 on Feb 17, 2018 |

I occasionally get emails from the local NDP riding association saying theyre having a meeting but it's in some guy's house with a two car garage and a lot of decorative moulding so I'm weary should I go and shout at them to stop being useless or what

This kinda sums up the NDP in my mind:quote:Meanwhile, there had been concerns going into the convention that internal party divisions would erupt over some other policy resolutions, notably those endorsing of a boycott campaign against Israel and opposing the Trans Mountain Pipeline. Literally going from boasting about shutting down any internal debate or talk about substantive policy issues followed immediately by complaints about how for some reason enthusiasm for the party has waned.

That is best loving avatar. Tim Curry and communism, you lucky son of a bitch. The NDP is so frustrating because there's examples and outreach of support from other left-wing groups in other countries but they aren't doing anything with it, let alone seeing way the political winds are blowing and shifting their own policies to try to catch the other parties by surprise. It's ridiculous, people paid to just say "change nothing, we're good!" as if politics is about repeating the same thing until everyone votes for you.

Hey Canada thread I had a good lol today about article 302 of the Royal Legion manual (section 3 being Membership)quote:302. No anarchist, communist or fascist shall be permitted to become a member, nor shall any person who advocates the destruction by force of the duly constituted Government of Canada, or any person proven to advocate, encourage or participate in subversive action or subversive propaganda, be permitted to become a member. Dominion Command may define the terms anarchist, communist, fascist and subversive. I was thinking of going over to shoot some pool an drink beer but I guess I'm not welcome.
