'07 and '08 are my favourite F1 cars of all time + 2017.

Wide rear end rear tires makes me happy, always.

I wonder how the 2007-2008 cars would look with non-retard tires.

Human Grand Prix posted:2007-2008 kicks rear end. I liked that era better because there was nonsense all over the cars. These days there's just a few areas where the creative aero bits can live.

What's insane is if you look at an F1 car from around 2006 to 2008 they look extremely modern. It's insane.

I like the cleaner looks of the '09 cars but I think that was due to them getting rid of the stupid rear end grooved tires.

I got used to the 2009 wings eventually, but they look terrible in hindsight.

2009-2016 gave us the atrocious narrow high rear wings, dick noses, step noses.... it was honestly the most aethestically worst of the worst. Which is why I think the halo looking hideous isn't exactly going to kill F1 at all. It's just that we may have had the prettiest single year of F1 cars for a long, long time with 2017 and then subsequently had the halo smashed on them.

# ? Feb 23, 2018 00:48 |

The halo looks like complete rear end but it isn't as bad as the dick nose cars.

Yeah, like we just came out of the single ugliest era of F1 by far. The step noses and dick noses with narrow and tall rear wings. There was not a single remotely appealing thing about that entire era except MAYBE... MAYBE the Brawn. That's it. And that was in 2009.

The BGP001 is a gorgeous car (which also has the sort of high sidepods 1500 thinks are "2017 ferrari style")

I can't tolerate the rear wings, I'm sorry. They ruin all of the cars for me.

Remember the pre-season McLaren tested with 2009 front-wing but a 2008 rear wing? It looked sublime.

Someone should start an OG-GP with 50s-60s style cars with no aero but modern materials and engines.

Stupid aero is cool, like so; I would have liked to be a fly on the wall when Byrne figured out you could put a mid wing in front of a rear wing. Edit: I can't believe the TG183 and 183B are related; Human Grand Prix fucked around with this message at 01:26 on Feb 23, 2018 |
