Like, they managed to block the berniecrat from getting state party chair with that lopsidedness but couldn't or wouldn't get Fino the Dino more than 37 percent backing to de Leon's 54 percent. the vote shows that even stalwart party members & elected officials are jumping off her ship.

GalacticAcid posted:“millennials will do socialism when the boomers die” is “demographics are destiny” for c-spam Millennials have no future without a seismic shift in how the government operates while boomers are keeping the status quo, hell maybe even making things worse. The democratic party will annihilate itself if they keep arguing for tax credits and consolidated data centers when all the boomers die. Hell, even oligarchs from silicon valley are arguing for universal basic income because they see the writing on the wall.

Hell, for all we know gen z could go all-in for fascism if the next recession hits them particularly hard and the some charismatic right-wing psycho is smart enough to actually try to give them free stuff. Why wouldn't they when American democracy hasn't helped anyone but the rich for over three decades? readingatwork has issued a correction as of 05:53 on Feb 26, 2018 |

I just finished watching Antoine Fuqua's The Equalizer, and I could have sworn that movie was tailor-made for Bad Dems and Donut Twitter: A retired CIA operative (who is a black man!) now in a blue-collar job at a hardware store takes on Russian mobsters who have infiltrated Boston. He starts by knocking over a prostitution ring, then puts a stop to corrupt cops from extorting the neighborhood (including the little kitchen of a nice Latina lady), and goes all the way up to revealing a Russian's oligarchs bribes to Congress and sending the proof over to the FBI, and ends with assassinating the billionaire Russkie himself all the way in Moscow.

a new generation will inherit the political oligarchy from their parents this new generation will attempt to keep the undemocratic system to crush their generational peers just like their parents did it is always important to understand that this political oligarchy exists based on human belief sustaining an undemocratic structure kept up by paper laws and institutions. it's the same flimsy structure that kept the kings and queens in power. the masses have the actual power. if the masses don't challenge the current institution, that institution will remain in power just to make it clear, the institution I am talking about is the undemocratic dictatorships that rule the American economy

Power hierarchies sustain themselves regardless of the intentions of the people involved. Talking about how the answer to the world's problems, is getting the 'right' people in power, who are sufficiently virtuous, is reactionary, because that fundamental power structure dynamic is ignored. You may as well talk about how good a theocracy is, because clearly a pious leadership is more virtuous.
