Singapore is ranked 14th on the rule of law index (higher than USA) with an independent judiciary cited as a model for developing countries China is ranked 75th and a judiciary that ummmm the difference between Singapore and China is that Singapore is a democracy where the ruling party enjoys massive incumbent advantages whereas China is a one party dictatorship that seems to be transitioning towards a personal dictatorship

to be blunt, I'm not sure how much of a problem I have with one party dictatorships given how well China has done in the last 35 years or so personal dictatorships seem to always result in big big problems though
