  Eat that!  This is another big raid.  And this is a very well supported one!  Durban castle is withstanding something of a siege.  A supply ship is savaged.  Now that's a bold move. I don't know why the Kido Butai isn't out there sinking them though!  There's a carrier hanging around down here.  That's another brutal day of air losses!

Wow, Yorktown II showing up on the sunk list on the 22nd is kind of a dick move, game. Looks like those landing forces are a good target for another cruiser sweep, though. 25 February 1944 Glide bombs claim another destroyer, HMS Inglefield, off Anzio. Far to the north, the destroyer HMS Mahratta takes a homing torpedo from U-990 in the Norwegian Sea. Next event is the 29th, leading me to remember that 1944 is a leap year while 2018 is not.

The AI seems to become a lot less aggressive with the KB raids around August '42 or so. In my game they retreated from the Solomons around mid-July (after losing half the carriers and nearly all of the planes to land-based air at Port Moresby) and only reappeared months later in the Andaman sea. It might have something to do with none of the offensive scripts having the carrier forces in them (because historically most were out of action after Midway) or it might be that the AI won't sail the carrier task forces without fully filled out squadrons.

That may be it, the KB could be waiting for repairs and reinforcements. I got a lucky sub torp into Kaga at the end of summer and it may be waiting to repair.

I remember when HunterBaby were born. It was not that long ago. With kids of my own, I know time goes faster and faster as the kids get older and older. Might be the same with Let's Plays?   We trade fire and death.  Most of the enemy troops are ashore and have already claimed the island.  It looks like the Americans are coming to pick a fight!  This could have been bloodier.  They send in the Liberators. They have nothing else with the range.  drat their working doctrines.  I feel like I have a KB now, and I need to face the Allies challenge to the south!

Grey is in game mechanics scoring sense probably better off avoiding the battle and getting x2 comfortably, but if we imagine a game beyond that point he definitely has to go for another decisive battle.

  There is nowhere to hide here.  I need to withdraw these fighter units.  The actual assault fails, but they still kill a lot of my men.  A subhunter patrol runs into what seems like another invasion force. They trade fire then withdraw.  I've got all my ships out hunting today.  Rabaul has more incoming it seems.  The carriers are on hand to put paid to that idea.  I need to sort that bloody training mission out!  The battleships fend off a couple of air strikes.  The third lands a hit.  The afternoon carrier strike sinks more ships.  Another day of murder on the high seas!  There are still a few more to pick up out there!
