Cayenne and chili powder are spicy-ish.

No fuckin' actual peppers though, those might add too much flavour.

^^^ McCormick chili powder is only spicy if you have lived your entire life in Minnesota. Cayenne is sort of spicy but not nearly hot enough to need any sort of sugar to mellow it.

LEARN HOW TO BROWN YOUR GROUND BEEF

AND KEEP THE FAT????? MAYBE COOK THE VEGETABLES IN IT????????? gently caress

not trying to start correct-chili-chat but i'm making some tomorrow in a similarly-sized pot and i'm using like 4 cans of beans and 4 cans of tomatoes and beef + pork and a lot of peppers and just gently caress this weirdo and his green bean chili

e: oh he drained the fuckin beans. or maybe u could add the liquid it for body and flavor bc if you actually cook it for longer than an hour it won't be 'watery'

Every time I see this, I find something new to hate.

In this case it's the flour. If you have to put flour in your chili to thicken it, you've hosed up before you even began.

To be fair McCormick's seasoning packets do belong in the trash. :v: But yeah, there's nothing wrong with pre-made spice mixes. Just use one from an actual spice store so you get some kick and better flavors.

I usually eat it on angle hair pasta or rice, if I'm at a diner or something I'll crumble up like 2-3 packs of saltines instead. I thought this was normal.
