I barely ever watch any videogame related media that isn't a twitch stream. Its just more entertaining to have something playing live in the background that i can occasionally comment on while I work on something else. Its good to put on when I'm doing drawing, which has taken up a lot of my freetime lately.

lol also the big gamer youtube im into right now is jeremy parish, who just does mini 5-10 minute documentaries/reviews of every single original gameboy game, talking about the developers, the history of the game boy, the context of the early releases, etc. its kinda fascinating learning stuff like 'there really werent that many tetris clones because for some reason everyone was ripping off bugs bunny crazy castle' and 'the developers of all the licensed teenage mutant ninja turtles games had never seen an episode of the source material or any of the comics'

I bought Near A Tomato on steam sale despite already buying the collector's ps4 edition and platinum-ing it. It is hosed up that you need a fan patch to make it run, but wow it looks like this dude/dudette put a lot of work into it. It has an entire GUI in-game with just pages and pages of every option you would ever want. I'm impressed.

I think in 10-15 years Jeremy is going to be recognized as a really important figure in the archiving of video game history, as niche as it might be he's still doing a lot of good work.
