Love the ID Buzz, love the Fully Charged bits with Jonny Smith. It's much freer form, more in-depth and lower paced than TV productions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQut6ks3nSY

Girlfriend snagged an used i3 over the weekend and I’m in absolutely in love with the car (her too, *coughs*). We had a fun shakedown drive about 60-something miles out of the city and got to experience the smooth, almost eerily quiet cabin at highway speeds, the “oh poo poo” feeling of draining more than half your battery driving in one direction (and continuing onwards), the glory of Georgia Power’s well-kept CCS/Chademo QCs and watching your car gain miles back in minutes, and the righteous indignation felt when two dickheads in ICE cars block chargers (I’m a sadbrain used to drivers being lovely, but she was pissssssssed). All in all, love the i3, excellent car would buy again. That’s my story, thanks for reading! CAT INTERCEPTOR posted:Sure, lets get rid of all the subsidies on oil and normal ICE cars then as well. It loving amazes me that so many people are blissfully ignorant of the sheer amount of money our governments throw at oil companies. ExxonMobil gets loving billions in government assistance and I’m praying for a bill to pass that’ll give me a thousand-dollar pittance on the purchase of my Zero.

https://youtu.be/ssU2mjiNi_Q They made a video taking the battery out of a Chevy Bolt.. now there is a new video where they completely disassemble the battery. Interestingly they use a heating/cooling plate on the bottom of the cells with a massive thermal interface pad between the cells and the plate. Instead of sandwiching cooling channels been each cell like the Volt or Tesla. Edit: Also, its only 57kWh, not 60kWh. stevewm fucked around with this message at 17:54 on Feb 21, 2018 |

First batch of non-current-Tesla-owners got to pick their paint and wheels for Model 3s today. I’m not one of them, but I’m waiting to see the awd version anyway.

I’m still waiting.

I wouldn’t bother with the for a while. Invites have been going out in batches, they probably sent out enough to ensure orders for a few weeks of production at the least this round.

Jaguar now has an all-electric car. Its features look pretty cool (240 mile range, 0-to-60 in 4.5 seconds). The list price will start at £58,995 (about $81,000 USD).

Consumption seems a tad high with that range, but otherwise it seems fantastic. 4G WIFI hotspot is awesome, dashcams online all the time and laptop browsing while charging at 100 kW.

31 miles of all electric range.

If Bentley wants to make a semi electrified crossover with 31 miles range they are more than welcome. I don’t get what is with AI poo-pooing anything that doesn’t meet their arbitrary requirements and isn’t in the goon snack bracket. Just be happy; and if you’re going to be critical be cognizant.

In general I think plug-in hybrids are horrible stupid things for all but a tiny, tiny subset of users that in no way justifies producing them in the first place besides gaming government incentives and/or marketing and a plug-in hybrid Bentley SUV is about taking that as far as stupidly possible. Also I hate a lot of PHEV drivers, stop stealing our electric car spots, last week I saw someone at Whole Foods parked in an electric car spot and they didn't even bother plugging their car in because why would they?
