I mean there are times where that kind of reading is valid. Like that's a pretty common way to look at tentacle hentai.

Instead most of the book is a Let's Play in written form. A lot of game criticism is like that unfortunately. To be honest despite loving SotC I have yet to read or see a longform critique of it that's any more insightful than some posts I've read in this subforum.

one of the worst books I've ever read was Bob Chipman's Mario Bros 3 book which devolves into loving madness and extremely pitiable personal tales, like how he would sit in the driveway after work to play Gameboy or drink whiskey to get through playing Mario Bros

I own a random L. Ron Hubbard book that’s pretty dire, though it’s still better than Misery.

Work is canceled because of snow today! I started the day by reading Fellowship of the Ring in bed for two hours while drinking coffee. Now I'm making strawberries and waffles and some more coffee. Pretty soon I'll be resuming my best run of FTL to date (which will probably end in sadness and disappointment before too long - I'm approaching 30 hours and still no wins). Snow days as an adult rule.

I got somewhat invested in the Hunger Games books. They were never incredible but I found them to be decently entertaining. The final one, Mockingjay, was seriously a steaming pile of poo poo. Katniss spends the majority of the book faffing about, or getting people killed. Storylines are hastily wrapped up in the most sloppy way possible. The political stuff is meant to be "BUT SHADES OF GREY, RIGHT?!" but ends up feeling completely pointless by the end.

My friend gave me his copy of Final Fantasy XV for free, so now I'm downloading 30gig patches and staring at store pages as I try to deduce what I need for this game. And that's not even touching the background material. I sincerely love it! it's a multimedia experience. I love that FF15 is relatable mess that stands as an eternal testament that "Video Games Are Extremely Hard To Make"

It probably would help to watch Kingsglaive too. for a long while, FF15 is a wonderful game about the adventures of a young prince and his buddies cruising the countryside of his kingdom, doing oddjobs and winning favor with the common man while uncovering various magic objects in his ancestors' tombs to become a better king, while also battling annoying encroaching armies. Then, in the latter third of the game, you are literally railroaded into a series of decreasingly fun scenarios in a rapidly unwinding story, which is only saved by two aesthetically extraordinary final bosses. I played at launch so maybe the game is much much better now though. I was kind of pissed that so much extra content only came waaaaaay after release but I'm glad other people on PC will likely have a really great experience with what looks like a very nice port. Yeah, I thought it was great. But every hour or two there's what feels like 5 minutes of backstory or cinema missing from the story. It almost made me feel like I was accidentally skipping stuff.

That power plant was Jared's favorite power plant and it would be shameful if you allowed anything to happen to it. edit: Fun fact the strategy guide has a chart that explicitly spells out who certain characters like Jared are, because lol if you thought the game was going to.

Before it was literally just a tooltip on the loading screen between leaving that area and going to the power plant telling you what was happening.
