So juiced for new Yob and this tour! Here are the dates for those too lazybones to look them up:

June 22 - Orlando FL @ Will's Pub

Edit: Tickets are on sale Friday.

Oh man... I gotta figure out a way to get up to Orlando. Yob is one of the bands I need to see live before I die, not that I'm dying any time soon, just that they are in my top 5 at this point.

EDIT - Bell Witch too, wow. That is going to be a transcendental show for sure.

yeah run the night is a great song.

i'll keep adding stuff. it's at almost 40 songs right now, i think i'll add the dinosaurs later. one song per band. gnarly heavy psych, proto doom, guitar-heavy kraut and hard rocking prog from the late 60s to the late 70s:

Just a regular reminder that Inter Arma rules. Saw them Saturday night at St. Vitus, which I think was my fourth time seeing them, and probably the best set of theirs I've seen. TJ Childers is such a beast on the drums and Mike Paparo is a great vocalist. That whole band is on the top of their game and so, so good.

Vile Creature opened and they're really cool, too. Their new one came out last week.

The new Windhand/Satan's Satyrs split fuckin' rules y'all. The Windhand side is nice and doomy, and Satyrs are loving shredding on their side. Their single "Succubus" was posted a while back, here it is again.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtspgU7et-g
I was hanging out with their guitarist and drummer earlier tonight, they were talking about how much they hate when people lump them in with doom bands and like duh, they couldn't be further from it. Either way they fuckin' rip and I'm stoked to see them and Windhand play next week. Also they were talking about the time they hung out with Tatsu from Church of Misery, apparently he's really cool.

Also their guitarist Jarrett was showing me his new amp, a faux-leopardskin Marshall JCM 800 with original matching cab. It was previously owned by the guitarist of Warrant, who reupholstered it with the leopard skin print and he actually signed the back of it. Fuckin' rules.

Got my copy of the new Eagle Twin record early. It is... kind of just straightforward doom/sludge. Still was a solid album with interesting moments, but feels like a shadowy image of the freejazz-tinged, noisy, and primal crunch fest of The Unkindness of Crows.

Might need a few more listens...

The name was a dumb joke when they first started, and I figured they'd change it if they ever got signed, but for some reason they kept it. I guess they don't want to bother building up the name recognition again now that they're touring Europe.

They don't even sound like a stoner band anymore!

Basically teaches your brain to tune out the frequency, or so it claims.

Either way you get to listen to music you enjoy so it's not a worthless endeavour.

Personally I find my tinnitus worse after noisy environments like a bathroom exhaust fan or a airplane. Recently got some noise cancelling earphones for the latter and it made a huge difference to how fatigued I felt after a 8hr flight, with a lot less noticeable tinnitus.

Fitzroy, a suburb of Melbourne, has more of a doom scene than the entire city of Sydney, to such an extent that a band made it their name.

but then again its pretty easy to have any kind of genre scene bigger than sydney because all the small venues have been turned into wine bars or meme-based minigolf arenas. :(
