If you really want to make a difference perhaps find a decent local candidate worth supporting (not necessarily in your riding) and knock on a few doors or do a few phone banks on their behalf. If you have a car maybe volunteer to help drive elderly and disabled people to the polls on E-day. Voting is the least consequential thing you can do politically and you shouldn't lose too much sleep over not having a candidate worth voting for. If you wanna get involved there are far better ways to do it. Regarding your specific question though all the parties currently suck. I'd advocate voting NDP for the simplistic reason it is generally seen as a vote for more lefty leaning policy but yeah, the party sucks. They're explicitly in favour of proper socialized pharmacare and keeping public utilities under public control so for all their flaws they are unambiguously a better choice than the alternatives right now. You can also reassure yourself that living in St. Paul's you're at no risk of accidentally helping a Conservative get into office by splitting the vote.

Ontario politics is so depressing I just try to ignore it and wait for a Federal election to get all worked up about. I've never lived in a close riding anyway. Sold Tory 'exurb, or solid NDP downtown core.

I've voted liberal ~strategically~ for so long it'll be nice to finally put one in for another party, even if it's the ONDP. Thanks for the advice. At least I can look forward to the PCs tearing themselves apart. Part of me thinks that Doug Ford would win them the election somehow
