Alright, do you have any specific questions? it seems like you're mostly concerned with things you might have to do that feel unethical or scummy? My impression of recruiting has been that it's not quite as bad as sales but still very similar. The core of the job for you is probably going to be trying to match someone to a high paying job for as little as possible since the companies you'll be working with will probably be paying your org a fixed rate and you commission will be "Company rate - Candidate rate = Your gross profit" and if you get someone to grossly underestimate their value to an organization you stand to profit more. My wife hasn't really encountered this too badly so far as in most cases she is getting her placed candidates a raise and they shouldn't really ever find out how much the organization they are working with is paying you for their services but I can see that feeling scummy to someone if they are really making bank of a particular placement. The other thing I see sometimes is that a company will get rid of a division/outsource/project end or cost cut and fire a ton of people then several months down the road realize they still need some of those specialists. On more than one occasion my wife has managed to place a terminated employee right back with the company that let them go for some real easy placements. Usually they end up with a slight bump in their pay but probably not enough to make of for the period of time they've been out of work, but sometimes they end up back where they started for less money. Are there more specific concerns you have or are you just encountering a lot of people who give off that "used car sale" vibe?
