No. People have projected a lot of stuff into the Division which it explicitly takes a stand against.

But for reals tho, grab The Division when it's on sale as it's a pretty drat good solo game for the first 30-40hrs until you finish up all the story missions.

I had a really really good time cooping it with a mate.

My dad has like a 100 tom clancy books and they all seem to be written by randos if you look past the giant name on the cover. What did he actually write? Hunt for Red October?

Sorry I'm not as up to date on Military garbage fiction as I am military garbage video games.

He wrote like a dozen books (including Rainbow Six) before his probable ailing health lead to him “co-writing” a few before his death. Obviously he didn’t write the ones that came out after he died.

The "Tom Clancy" brand is probably the most effective brand in video games in terms of letting you know exactly what the game is gonna be about before you even play it

Super Bomberman R is coming to PS4.

I got this on Switch shortly after it launched and it's actually pretty good. It's part of Konami's bizarre apology comeback tour, what with all the DLC updates and such, and I remembered earlier people in this thread asking what Bomberman-like games are on this system given that Bomberman wasn't already on it so... here you go! Bomberman!

Also SaGa: Scarlet Grace is coming to PC/PS4/Switch/smartphones with a new version

There are a good bunch of fantastic games with Tom Clancy slapped on them. I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't even have a look at some games without his name on them.

Hell, I can think about at least three Tom Clancy on my top 10 shooters of all time. RainbowSix Rogue Spear, RainbowSix 3 and Ghost Recon (with its two expansion packs).

Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

I guess the strategy all along was to release it so far after everybody stopped caring about zombies that the concept would be novel again.

Every game set in NYC except Prototype and Spider-Man 2 is bad, so a loving rendition of Lower Manhattan wouldn’t entice me to play a game. Also all the bosses being “guys in rags and hoodies” instead of cool mutants seems very Fallout-ty in a “missed opportunities abound”.

Days Gone is coming out like a full 10 years after the last person really gave a gently caress about zombies, that’s pretty cool

Zombies have been done already, start doing 'zombies &' instead. Humanity vs. zombies & demons. Humanity vs. zombies & aliens. Humanity vs. zombies & kaiju. Humanity vs. zombies & dinosaurs- loving come up with something else to add to things.

"Hi Everybody!"

An open-world game getting pushed back isn't really a bad thing, because there is a lot that can go wrong with how dynamic every quest, NPC, and game element has to interact with eachother. If it was a ten-hour linear game, then you get the popcorn and start laughing.

The rioters are the smallest faction in the game and not a big part of the story. You end up with bosses like a flamethrower wielding sanitation worker (it makes a lot more sense in context) wearing a huge set of improvised armor, escaped murderers in stolen riot gear, PMC types with state of the art tech, and turncoat division agents with all the same abilities you have.

Also, if anything, the game really is anti-The Division being a good idea, and the majority of the sympathetic characters are civilian and national guard types working in the system to keep order. Also, it’s the only game where I’ve gone out of my way to do collectibles, since they’re usually grouped together in self-contained stories that flesh out the setting and factions.

Motherfucker, I was playing Nier Automata and I was at the prologue boss fight with the two spiny wheel of death things, and both hit me at basically the same time so the auto recover didn’t kick in and I died. I’m gonna have to play the whole prologue again, aren’t I?
