Flamelurker's only easy if you trip him up on the level geometry, otherwise he's one of the only challenging ones. Although to be fair like every Demon's Souls boss suffers from having one weird trick.

i'm not sure i'd call DS2 "nihilistic" but it goes to great pains to portray the curse of the undead as extremely Sisphyean, and it changes it from DS1's magic zombie virus to Magic Alzheimers.

personally i think the game loving rules for this change and is way way more impactful for this difference

Yeah I think Jak 3 is my favorite since it struck a nice balance between the last two in terms of gameplay and tone.

I wish Naughty Dog would try to make more open world games.

Hunting down the gigantic Wasteland Metalheads in the Mad Max desert was awesome.
Naughty Dog is too busy making Last of Us sequels, and unfortunately the developer who did the PSP Jak spinoffs didn't do a great job. Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier failed to heed Sonic Unleashed's warnings that mutating a character into a werewolf was a bad idea. It doesn't even make sense for Daxter to mutate further considering he was already mutated by dark eco.

Ratchet and Clank 3
Jak 3

Another underrated PS2 franchise for me at least was Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.
