OSX/MacOS would unironically be a better experience if you could switch back to the Platinum theme

Just like Windows 10 would be better if you could still switch back to the Classic (95/98/NT4/2000) theme

I am sure we are just at the start of a new history cycle, in another couple years someone will reinvent 3d-style window decorations and widgets, and in another 10 years we'll be back to candy themes like XP and Aqua.

It can only really improve from this point

depends on what you mean by disable. using the gpo to turn off the cortana functionality just leaves you with the old windows search

trying to kill the "cortana" processes breaks poo poo because that's what the windows search ui components are called now

there's that, but there's also the contingent in yospos that like to use ~*wEeDgOkU420><><><XXX.windows.optimization.guide.v69.pdf to break their installs and then complain about how bad windows is.

cortana is not off by the looks of it, because you shouldn't have the cortana notebook icon on the left there if it is.

it hasn't since 1607. it's a gpo now, so disable it in group policy

technically, except gpo is supported and arbitrary reg hacks aren't and if something changes one is guaranteed to break, which is why you don't do that unless you want to be called an idiot for bitching about how badly you've broken your windows install
