Are they putting him in a regular room, or some form of critical care? If he's going into ICU or CCU, they're worried about withdrawals and will likely have him on Ativan (so don't expect him to remember much of any conversations he may have while there), and will probably discharge him in 3-5 days with an rX for Librium - which I would encourage you or family (or his girl) to hang on to and give as directed, unless he starts getting visibly shaky/sweaty, then it's time for a little more. He won't be driving or really going out on that anyway.

Glad they admitted him, hopefully this will be the wakeup call he needs.

My brother went through this as well, almost died. Had to have surgery and can't drink at all now. It was good for him in the end but the "wake up call" didn't last long. He still does dumb poo poo and blames everyone but himself for his issues.

Hope it all works out on your side and he's alright.

Got some, but I'm deaf as gently caress and used to sleeping on ships. Noise doesn't bother me.

That said, I fully plan on enjoying this to the max so sleep will be an after thought. If I don't come back Sunday broken with a horrific hangover, I'll count it as a missed chance to just let loose for awhile.

Sadly I couldn't get any vape cartridges beforehand, so it'll just be booze :(

Yeah uh, that's pretty far past the line of "needs rehab". I used to kill a 30 pack of High Life a day myself, and was very close to pancreatitis when I finally got the $600 bus ride (ambulance) followed by the ~$75,000 bill (insurance didn't cover anything related to substance abuse; they did cover a decent chunk of the bill since it was deemed "life threatening" thanks to 230/170 blood pressure and a 180 pulse [OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ], but not even close to half of the bill :fuckoff:)

He'll get detoxed while there; expect him to be pretty heavily sedated while in the hospital. Probably be there 4-7 days so long as his liver starts bouncing back. The meds used for detox don't hit the liver as hard as alcohol - he'll have either IV Ativan or IV Valium for the first couple of days (IV Valium loving burns for some reason, it makes your entire arm feel like it's on fire), then oral versions of the same meds, and an rX for a week's worth of Librium once discharged. Basing this on my own experiences, anyway.

Start looking for rehabs in your area yesterday. The social workers at the hospital he's at will be a great resource for you, if you can figure out how to reach them. They know what rehabs will take people without insurance, people who prefer to pay cash, etc. If you haven't heard from the social workers there, don't be afraid to go to the hospital and go to his floor; drop by the nurses station and ask who you need to talk to about his ongoing care once discharged. The nurses at the station (probably) won't know (and don't interrupt them if they seem really busy, like during a shift change or med rounds), but they'll know who to contact, so long as he's agreed to a release of medical info to family.

Traded in my 15' F150 XLT 3.5 EcoBoost SCrew for an 18' XLT Sport 3.5 (Lightning Blue!)EcoBoost SCrew on Saturday. Man this Gen 2 EcoBoost is so smooth in comparison to the Gen 1; it feels and sounds like a completely different engine. The 10 speed takes a little getting used to, as it tends to skip-shift a lot if you're driving around lazily. I know I'm in honey moon period, but this truck is A LOT more refined than my 15', which was the first aluminum body year. Once I get it broken in I'll have to rip on it a little, I guess people are getting these into the mid 13's STOCK.

The gen II is a beast, and yeah it skip shifts every time in normal mode. Put it in tow or sport mode and it'll go through all of them. Pur your foot down and it'll go through all of them very very quickly.

Thanks for this. I think he's been to rehab before, and AA, but he works in landscaping and has been laid off all winter. He was volunteering at a pet shelter and he was getting enough with unemployment that he said he was fine, but he's always had a problem with alcohol and I imagine being laid off didn't help things.

Sport mode is fun until you see the gas bill. It uses lower gears more easier and makes the pedal quite a bit more sensitive. Which is exactly why it's more fun.

Actually, switching to the truck from the 'Stang has slowed me down like 10mph in freeway cruising.

I noticed that with my last truck with sport mode too. Adding a tune basically made it sport mode all the time with 500+ lb ft. of torque available at all times. I had to switch to a tow/performance because the straight up performance tune was just blowing the tires off during casual acceleration in winter.

It was complicated. I was let go, asked to come back, realized I hated the job and left again. I got all my unused vacation paid out which was roughly two full months pay so it wasn't bad. And I have that bond money so I could probably go another two more months without working.

That said, I have 7 prospects that I applied for and all have responded with "onto the first interview" so we'll see what happens.

In this employment environment (US), it's pretty much the only way to move up any more, at least in IT, where I am. Almost no one will increase pay significantly without moving to another company, or at least a lateral move to another in-house position. Most of us can't even get decent cost-of-living increases.

"Haven't had a meaningful raise since 2010" crew checking in.

Doesn't help that I've been laid off twice since 2015 and had a contract job with an rear end in a top hat company last summer, then got lied to about the place I'm working for now - they promised a big raise at my 1 year anniversary, then I found out about a month after starting that the company is in dire financial straits thanks to a previous president siphoning off all profits for the better part of a decade, and being in business six months from now is a 50/50 proposition. Needless to say I've ramped up my job application efforts recently, because its ridiculous to be driving 60 miles a day to a job that barely pays the bills and has a highly uncertain future.

You can get an R32 GTR in ok condition for 11 grand or so at auction but the demand is sky (heh) high. That's what happens when you suddenly have the entire United States of America as potential customers to buy your car and everyone wants one. Just go look to see what people in the US are looking to get for their po-dunk GTS Skylines.
Depending on what your definition of 'fun' is though you can score some hilarious deals. My Rugger cost $2236 at auction, I paid $1960 for the Crown. We paid $6523 for the Hilux Surf but that's understandable, the only thing that competes with inflated prices like Skylines is the Hilux and Land Cruisers, especially when they are so choice. And the AZ-1.
You can pick up kei trucks for $150 bucks or so, vans for a bit more at around 450~ on the high end.

I would absolutely insist you import yourself though. It is by far the cheapest and you have the most control. If you don't want to bother with it that's fine but you are going to probably be paying a significant markup for the convenience of something already imported and titled. That's what I do but I'd expect most AI regulars would import themselves.

80s Hiluxes are not few and far between here in North America. Unmolested and rust-free ones do command a hefty price premium though. I can think of two rusty as gently caress ones and two clean ones in my area, not including the one I own.

Depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go, you can find running and driving examples sub $500.
