Played in a tournament with Corregidor over the weekend. Had three good tight games against Druze Bayram, Aleph and Onyx force respectively. Most dramatic game was definitely against Aleph: my opponent, a very good player, was using a Marut in a single combat group. By climbing on rooftops he gained LoF on and obviously destroyed a fair amount of my army. Big mistake on my part, I should have remembered that things capabilities and hidden inside buildings instead. That’s not the dramatic bit. I went into a counter attack with Senor Massacre and jaguar buddy. Took all my orders but I finished up with the Marut down (but not dead) in close combat. With skilful play despite being in loss of lieutenant my opponent managed to revive it, but frankly I think he was a bit lucky to crit both my models out of combat with a model that was already on v:dogged. I went to finish off the Marut for good with a bandit. He crit dodged the first round of attacks. He crit me dead with his HMG on the second order. I was absolutely stymied. Lost the game of course, 5-3, but if I’d won even that last FtF I mentioned instead of being crit again, I would have had a major victory. Words cannot describe my frustration. Of course the guy is a great player and might have found another way to beat me anyway, but god drat. That robot deserved to die.

Sorry, but if a vedic list is nastier than a vanilla marut/proxy nightmare then they'll easily eclipse tohaa for 'most bs'. Then again, all I can see it adding is a link of tacbots (as in mimetic b2 wip13+3 flash pulses and 2x unconscious. That's fine. Sure.)

I got into this game for Vedic, then switched to Yu Jing while it looked like CB were ditching them for the very boring Phalanx. I used to field Posthumans back when everyone thought they were bad!  now would be good timing for them to come out so i could give the yj a break until this bad time is over

I thought not until late April when the book is actually released. CB have usually had a fairly long lead in time to this sort of hyped release. Apparently there will be some sort of further announcement of the years planned releases at Adepticon which is fairly soon? My infinity mania is definitely building again, really want to hear more about what’s coming up.

The last tier event for my LGS ITS is Decapitation. I have no idea how to build an ISS list to take advantage of that, but I kinda wanna do a two Su Jian list powered by a Kuang Shi battery and led by Sun Tze. How important are specialists in Decapitation? I know it's mostly about picking off Lieutenants, but should I be bringing a Sophotect along just in case? Alternatively: gently caress Su Jians, fill out on AVA 2 Rui Shi and AVA 3 TR bots then sit in a corner and wait for them to come to me.

That mission really rewards going first imo, if you can accomplish that (bloody hard to prevent unless the board is perfect for your opponent) and kill his data tracker as well, you’re in a very good place.

They're not but fortunately do not hurt either. The Sophotect is always a safe bet if you've got room for her. She can complete a lot of the secondary objectives (which are not in Decapitation) plus can doctor herself in NWI. If you plan to go the reactive route, a single ninja would be a good investment for a surprise last turn slaying of the HVT.

I should point out that in decaptitation (or firefight - anything which rewards lt kills) an oniwaban or their special character is absolutely clutch. If you go first it’s your reserve model, roll for superior infiltration and enjoy a good chance to alpha strike your opponent. If going second, do hidden deployment but still try the roll. On reflection, you’re talking about a sectorial which doesn’t get such an option. In that case, gaze in envy!!

Thinking about finally rolling out my Morats for an upcoming escalation league. What's a decent idea for a 150pt starter for MAF? Also I need to decide on a color scheme, black and red is cool but not sure I want to go with it. Thinking about a reddish brown with whitish trim.

I started playing Infinity with MAF, and ignored daturazi for a similar list. It was a huge mistake, they're probably the best unit in the army and I'd argue one of the top warbands in the game. I started using them with vanilla last year and they were MVP frequently in a list that included an avatar, speculo, and bit & kiss. Check em out, they're solid.

Perfctly good list for an escalation league; I’d probably swap Kornak for a morat vanguard lt and something to use up a bit of your swc - perhaps a rasyat or yaogat (but I doubt you have enough points). Something to give you a ranged unit if the q drone gets taken out.

Yeah, if you can put in a yaogat to take advantage of the smoke that would be brutal for an early escalation game. Maybe drop kornak and get the combi/panzerfaust yaogat and an ikadron. Oh my. I'm feeling things I haven't felt in a long while looking at the maf list.

Played a fairly tame match yesterday evening. Corregidor against a fairly new players Nomads, using the capture & protect mission. Fun time, I was trying the mobile brigada pain train 5 man link for the first time. Thought it was fun but definitely accentuates the vulnerabilities of a 5 man link to counter attacking templates (or just to not finding good positions within 8" coherency). Good at fighting though.

The forums suck but I am really confused by all these people who formerly thought YJ was a shades-of-grey justifiable group of good guys and not a murderous totalitarian state that violently crushes dissent with power armored secret police? E: They also have always had multiple units of condemned criminals they use as cannon fodder, including one which has a literal explosive device around their neck that they use to suicide-bomb people.
