Flamboyant, high profile, easy listening, catchy choruses/lyrical hooks, lead singer died young, high variety and variability in songs to appeal to broad spectrum.

Dorks love glam rock in general, Queen is/was a very successful band. It adds up.

Well, okay, it's not so much that they dislike Queen as they're very disappointed in Queen's recording engineer. You'll hear the phrase "flat and muddy" when the topic comes up.
