I mean he was a more polished passer coming into college than his older brother, but he was never better. I will maintain if he hadn't been a dumbass VT prb plays for a natty in 06 and he likely ends up a top QB pick in that draft instead of washing out as a WR and being on the run from the police the rest of his adult life. Honestly knowing Marcus, he probably would have ended up running from the police even if he'd been a player that got paid. To the point about the comment, I think Lamar is def a lot of what Vick would have looked like in a modern open offense. He's not crazy for saying at that point in their careers he's probably a better QB than Vick was which might have been his point.

It's not about his hands, it's about not being able to find a position for him. Too light for a LB, not athletic enough to be a DB. I could see him becoming a pass rush specialist/blitzer. He'd destroy RBs. Other than that, he's going to be a great STer.

I've seen two takes here, either the Jets offered the deal to the Giants first and the giants said no (because they're drafting a QB) or the Jets figured the Giants were going Barkley and are still getting one of 3/4 top qbs

Hopefully "them" means Rosen/Darnold/Mayfield, and doesn't include Allen.

Man do I love this move. Macc being aggressive and going up for a QB. They will get Darnold or Rosen now. Could this blow up in their face? Sure but I love the aggressiveness.

I love this move for the Jets, though. I think Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield are all #1 overall picks in most year's drafts and New York is now guaranteed one without even having to give up a future first.
