Yea, and Hitler was a vegetarian, so whats your point again? Also note the top voted comment. Aside, media creators everywhere lift stuff that they like from exotic locals and roll it into their own work. I've seen some cool takes Christian symbolism from people who never grew up with it around them. So Jihad is about as cool as the Crusades and Legionaries. I personally associate Islam with sweet main courses and desserts, but then again I'm not from the states and don't have raging Islamophobia.

The Jihad sword isn't a big deal but it was frustrating when it was renamed seemingly out of a misguided effort to remove a potentially "offensive" term. Especially seeing as it happened around the same time when a lot of cool, fun names were being removed and replaced with dull "descriptive" versions (autumn katana etc) the removal seems like a symptom of a larger problem, which is the apparent desire to remove all flavor from the game. This is a well tread complaint of course, and the whole reason gooncrawl got going in the first place.

What we get depicted nowadays are cool looking armoured dudes who are all pure of heart and stuff - nevermind all of those massacres. Legionaries likewise we remember as a symbol of the first real professional amry and it's associated tactics, logistics, and power projection. I don't think any living person has the perspective and negative connotations that where had by those poor suckers ground under the foot of the Roman empire. I wonder how long it will be before the only things SS Nazis are remembered for are their spiffy uniforms... War is bad, yet here we are playing a game about the wholesale murder of literally every living being that wanders into sight. Funny story: The first time I saw Prince Ribbit, I read his description and then carefully tried to avoid hurting him. I was totally going to find a way to turn him back into a human! Yea... it's not that type of game. So back to Jihad, I liked it since it was all about TSO getting his wrath on. Shrug.

Maybe a Sword of Jihad would be acceptable if it represented your internal struggle to become a better person or something, but as it was it just played into a widely held negative stereotype. Summon mass snowball beetles. Frozen boulder beetles that shatter upon impact, slowing the main target and doing aoe damage. Size of aoe and damage is based on distance. Snow crab swarm. Cone shaped casting, all affected enemies in the cone are covered in tiny snowcrabs, dealing damage every turn, slowing, and chipping away at enemies armor until they're somehow shaken off by swinging or something. Doesn't even have to be a summoning spell since it won't create units, just causes a "snowcrabs" status. E: the snowcrabs migrate to nearby enemies even if they weren't in the initial cone. Played Troll(dont ask) of Fedhas for a bit, and it's actually not so bad. I mean the powers are completely useless so far but if you use the A-A ability, piety gain is ok at least.

The trouble seems to be trying to form a flavorful thematic link between holy wrath (normally associated with TSO) and berserk (normally associated with Trog). My attempt would be the +10 eudaemon blade "Gjallarhorn" {holy, *Rage rN+ EV+3} and change the -Stealth to a 20-30 noise "The walls shake as the Gjallarhorn calls you to battle!" effect when the berserk is triggered.

So unless it's shifted to an either all holy or all berserk theme Sword of the Zealot is probably the best that can be done.

Ice spell ideas: Speed skates that move you [number] of squares in a line per movement action, for [duration]. A single [square/target] version of the 'create a block of ice' effect that Glaciate uses to obstruct movement. (Ice/Poison?) The 'triple axel, double lutz' where you attack all the squares around you with 3x auxiliary kick, then do a short random blink and attack all the squares around your new location with 2x unarmed attack. Slalom: the ice-only version of (semi) controlled blink. A spell that summons 6 'hockey player' humanoids with polearms from edge of LoS. One of them has heavier armor and a shield. I'll fix them and correct the link. Remember, use this thread to advertise write-ins for any specific item if I've somehow missed recording them as options on the survey! (this took 3 hours to make, kill me) As for the Sword of Jihad thing, I will say that the word is definitely charged (see the difference between Google Search and Google Images for "jihad") even if that is not intended to be the primary definition. I would prefer not to change it back on that alone, along the same lines of asking to reimplement removed swastika vaults based on the argument of the meaning of swastikas in Hindu/Buddhist culture vs the meaning of swastikas in Western culture thanks to Nazi appropriation. However, I am definitely willing to change it to a better name than Zealot's Sword because that is really boring. I'm also willing to add in any other descriptions or flavor that anyone feels may have gone missing for no good reason. E: Fixed some missing options.
