koolkevz666 posted:Yeah looking at that hit list, the chance of hitting the hex is 100% but the chance of hitting a tango was only 17% per a bullet and I think Redshirt got lucky with the three hits on the Tangos. I agree, and it also looks like he was shooting at 2 hexes (Bullets per hex is 4, bullets out of the gun is either 6 or 8 and I know which is divisible by 4). If you can't hit a 4 yard by 2 yard area from 70 yards away what exactly are you playing at? Then our magic luck asserted itself and we got yet another headshot on someone we didn't even know was there.

Just out of curiosity, what's the chance of the tangos that we're currently shooting at getting hit in the head ? I assume that it depends on positioning and that the only exposed parts of the tangos usually have been the head and upper body but we've still seen a lot more headshots than I'd expect.

T+2:42 to T+2:44 With no fire coming from the central houses and no enemies in sight, Team RED uses the opportunity to advance closer. Reginald takes the momentary quiet to break a window (making it very not quiet again for a moment) and jumps into the building he just exited, both to check up on Bac and to get better cover and a windowsill to brace against. Redshirt Lad decides that it's time to find a new window to fire from and leaves just in time to hear another burst slam against the building. Carwash can't see if the Tangos are going down or not, so she walks the burst from last known position to last known position, letting the automatic fire linger on the seminary gate wall for half a second or so before continuing onto the next target. When she reaches the corner of the building, she walks the burst back the way it came. An explosion sounds from the seminary, moments before Fyksen fires another grenade. Glancing up, he makes an interesting discovery: code:

Tangos have developed adamantium scapula technology. We must harvest this scapula after the op. It has so much to teach us.

I don't expect that the Tango in question will live to have beers with the guys and reminisce about that near hit.

I’m suspecting that the hit location chart has been modified on the Tango side to be generous with the dome shots.

I appreciate the lines drawn for each bullet on the maps. Really helps get the feel across more than a single line or just a note that X in Hex A shot Y in Hex B. They may be a bit more hassle than a simple arrow or something, but they're good.Cathode Raymond posted:Tangos have developed adamantium scapula technology.

Presumably we can harvest the scapula and make a ballistic plate out of it.

T+2:44 to T+2:46 As Redshirt Lad lines up his sights on Tango 9's last known position, he sees a bright flash from an adjacent window. It's not the kind of flash you get from small arms - it's a grenade launcher! He gives the windows a second of automatic fire, then hits the ground. Moments later, a boom knocks dust off the shelves. Carwash cases fire for a moment, swings her sights onto the BRDM-2, and follows the imperative of her nickname. A hose of lead washes over the car, tracers and ricochets sparking in the dark. The car comes to a halt and the turret turns towards her, unmoved by her assault... Radec and Strap reach their destination. Glass shatters as stocks slam into the panes. After clearing the window of shards, they're ready to enter the building and take up positions. Reginald braces the bipod of his Minimi against the windowframe while Bac finishes applying gauzes to his wounds. He's back in the fight! code:

T+2:44 to T+2:46 The BRDM comes to a halt. Carwash lets her burst continue, each bullet hitting. The turret suddenly lights up. The stone fence on the other side of the road goes up smoke. Before she really has time to think, the BRDM walks the burst onto her position. There's a sudden, sharp pain. Her radius is instantly shattered. Blood pours from a nasty tear in her forearm. She's never seen this much blood. With Fyksen's help, she retreats back into cover. A thick cloud of concrete dust fills the air as the KPVT chews on the stone fence. It's good cover. It'll hold. For a while. On the other side of the battlefield, Radec, Frankenstein, and Strap advance into the building. Over the radio, Reginald tells them where to find the stairs. Bac, one arm in a sling, takes his Minimi by the carrying handle and places it on the windowsill. Sitting down on his good leg and shouldering the stock, he takes up aim at the centre buildings. Reginald spots movement on the first floor: Anderson also spots a Tango: second storey, just on the corner, holding a long, scoped rifle. code:

The BRDM is lucky to hit, and Carwash is lucky to be alive. Unfortunately the only weapons we have still in action that can do anything good to that armored car are the grenade launchers. So better cross your fingers, everyone!

That was mean of the guy running the gun on the thing, too. I mean, that was after Carwash excised that potentially cancerous mole from his buddy the Driver's leg. (Gotta love a game where you can hit for millions of damage, but 1 damage is also still definitely a thing)
