As far as Bond themes are concerned, "All Time High" is definitely the all-time low.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that "For Your Eyes Only" probably would've been more palatable if someone with a stronger singing voice than Sheena Easton had done it; I mention it again because on my binge watch, I've just gotten to the part of Miami Vice where Crockett falls in love with and marries her within the space of a single episode.

I do like All Time High as a song, but it's admittedly not a very good Bond song. I always skip Moonraker though when listening through the CD, I think it's super boring and a disservice to the voice who blasted out Goldfinger so perfectly.

And for the record: Chris Cornell did a lot of songs that are better than You Know My Name, even though that one is excellent in its own right. I do have to admit however that I had no idea who Chris Cornell was and the song's existance got me to check him out so another win for my trusty Bond CD (I'm not much of a music guy if you can't tell).

People hated it when it was announced but I loved it. Still do. It’s got a great interpolation of the main theme, big vocals, and thematically appropriate lyrics. It’s everything a Bond theme should be, in my opinion, and deserves to be in the upper echelon of Bond themes along with Goldeneye, The World Is Not Enough, Live and Let Die, and Diamonds Are Forever.

(On the other hand I have no idea what people hear in You Know My Name, which I find to be tuneless, toothless, and, most significantly, boring. I have the same complaints about Writing’s On The Wall).

Its Shirley Bassey. Not any song in particular, just her going out there and crushing it.

I’m not a huge fan of Macca’s post-Beatles work but Live and Let Die is a great song (even if it’s really three songs smashed together).

With you on this. It just seems so rambling and... pointless? Maybe it's popular because it blends in some aspects of the classic Bond theme, but I just find it boring and uninspired. Then again, I'm not known for my music taste and Bond themes are generally pretty terrible.

Bizarre confession - I grew up on Moore and Dalton, I've seen the Craig films but I've never watched a Brosnan Bond film.

No matter how good Goldeneye is I just can't take Brosnan seriously in that role. He's just far too cheesy. He belongs on the cover of lovely romance novels and nowhere else.

In the last Bond megathread, someone described Brosnan as a "greatest hits" Bond rather than really having his own approach, which is pretty much bang on the money.

I really liked Brosnan as Bond and don’t care much for Craig. Moore and Brosnan are probably my favorites because of the humor they bring to the role.

I love Brosnan as Craig because he can handle the sexy or more serious side of playing Bond very well, he's dashing as hell, but yeah he also brings the comedy-- but not too much comedy. Sadly GoldenEye was the only one to really balance this well, though The World is Not Enough did let him get pretty serious and beat down. But that movie has a slew of dumb rear end problems mostly unrelated to Bond and his relationship with the main antagonist, which is really great stuff.

e: I loved Craig Bond in Casino Royale, but that was about it. It's another situation of me not being sure if he doesn't suit the role or if he just got mostly lovely movies after CR.

Goldeneye is the all time best theme.

Cornell’s You Know My Name was a good change of pace but I think the reason it’s wrll regarded is due to the intro fanfare that leads into the song. It’s memorable. Skyfall and Spectre feel more a return to form of classic Bond than something a bit more “raw” as strange as it sounds for Casino and Another Way to Die. It was different enough.

My favorite part is how the Russians barely react to the tank on the streets, just kind of stepping out of the way like it's another car. It's actually totally realistic for Russia

It's weird because I was the right age for it (16-17)and all my friends raved about it. I just never got round to it. Probably also didn't help that I wasn't a console gamer so I never played the game (which I remember looked amazing).

From the clips I've seen I always thought Brosnan looked like a perfect Bond but I never got round to checking it out. I'm going to remedy that as soon as I have the house to myself.
