If any other union went around doing this, they would feel the full force of the ROC, FWC, ABCC if they were in construction, and possibly the federal court just for good measure.

If we lie during bargaining for instance, and it can be proven in Court, they can fine us a massive amount, AND sue us for damages, AND if you're a paid officer, take away your career.

The fact that this guy is allowed to go on tv and misrepresent the employer like that is proof it's the shammiest of sham unions propped up by the LNP and I hope Unions Australia lobby the gently caress out of the ALP to take that weaslefuck down post-election.

Unions publicly conflate and lie constantly. Going on TV and saying bullshit might leave you open to getting sued by the association, but you're not defaming anyone, you're just a dumb poo poo.

Setka lies about employer conduct or rules on jobs all the time and in turn employers lie about the CFMEU's conduct. Yes the ABCC exists but there aren't any industrial rules around getting on TV and talking poo poo unless you say something that opens you to civil proceedings.

Keep believing left organisations always tell pure truth and don't spin though.

Like, it's easy for this guy who fears a loss of white power to demonstrate that he believes whole heartedly that this document places an onus on white nurses to behave differently around indigenous people and not doing so could cost them their jobs.

This is exactly the same as when unions, getup, whoever "create a crisis" which is organising for dummies and almost always involves lies or conflation to build anger and fear before delivering your wonderful hope story (which involves parting someone with their money and maybe getting them to do something helpful).

I'm saying no other union would feel the full force of anything for saying this.

I'm also saying that this strategy isn't anything new or interesting.

I'm not making judgement on who is bad and good. I think it is plain to see who is bad and who is good. If I am making a judgment, I guess it's on your wild understanding of the application of industrial law and attaching morality to the blunt realities of how politically motivated individuals and organisations function.

Their portrayal in the media is the issue. This one whack job who was anti-union until setting up his own is getting signal boosted by multiple outlets whereas if the CFEMU said "The ABCC is killing us" they'd just run another "Union thuggery" b-reel.

Just another detail from that article.

quote:

‘WE NEED TO THROW MALCOLM A DIRTY 30’

Mr Dastyari also suggested a blowout may soon be under way in Canberra, following the Turnbull government’s 29th consecutive Newspoll loss.

The latest poll, which saw the Coalition trailing Labor 47-53 on a two-party preferred basis, brings the Prime Minister closer to the symbolically significant 30th poll which he cited as one of his reasons for toppling Tony Abbott in 2015.

“In politics now, when you lose 30 Newspolls it’s called the Dirty 30,” said Mr Dastyari. “The Prime Minister is now one poll away.

“The night Abbott lost his 30th Newspoll, and realised he was going to lose the prime ministership, they had this huge party. It was one of the most epic parties ever in Parliament.

“This was the famous party where Joe Hockey was dancing without a shirt, another minister broke a table, and Abbott was dancing shirtless and doing push-ups with members of his staff sitting on his back.”
An Italian marble table — which cost $590 when it was purchased in 1988 — was broken at Mr Abbott’s infamous ‘Dirty 30’ party in 2015.

In case those visuals alone aren’t disturbing enough, there’s more.

“I’m also reliably told that Tony Abbott does a mean, mean Gangnam Style.”

Mr Dastyari said the Prime Minister is going to need help with a similar party, with the next Newspoll to be released in less than a fortnight.

“Malcolm’s gonna hit his dirty 30,” he said. “We’re gonna have to host his party for him. Turnbull’s not a fun guy.”

And who would replace Mr Turnbull? Mr Dastyari bets MP Kevin Andrews will lead a vote to bring back Mr Abbott.

“Kevin Andrews will end up being the stalking horse. My prediction? Kevin Andrews will either nominate himself or get ready to nominate for a challenge to bring a spill on to try and get the numbers back for Tony Abbott.”

We’ll just have to see how that plays out.

Someone's leaked this into the media to kill Dutton's chances at being the PM. President Trumball or Scomo? If it dosn't get traction, they'll be another leak about it shortly.

I like to dream too but I think we all know in our hearts the next PM is probably going to be the Potato King.
