Swedish style? No.
Yugoslavian style? Of course not.
It has to be Zlatan-style.

90% of the teams have smartened up from signing ageing stars, LA isnt one of them. That being said I think signing old euros isn't a bad move if they're willing to put a shift in. So for instance Villa was a great signing while Pirlo was ill advised from the start and he was poo poo. Zlatan will still be very good if he's truly over the injury so yes, I am excited to watch one of the most exciting strikers of a generation in my league. Also somehow Zlatan isn't a DP so LA is free to still spend big money elsewhere.

My team has youth players doing better than the storied MLS careers of Gerrard and Pirlo

Figured I forgot a few.

In terms of abject failures, you've got guys like Lampard and Gerrard; I suppose Pirlo ... Freddie Ljungberg? Lothar Matthäus?

Lampard was good, he just didn't stick around very long, and spent that season playing on loan for Man City instead of NYC, which made people mad. He scored 15 goals in less than 30 games though.

The best is when a player who was good in Europe goes to MLS and is poo poo and then MLS fans say that proves MLS is better than Europe lol

Offense is overrated anyway.

It's really nice hurl abuse at them in person, and my team is too smart to sign any of them, so yes it's quite enjoyable.

One of my first Fire matches was against NJRB Featuring Thierry Henry. At one point he smashed a terrifying shot right at me but it went off the crossbar and we all hooted and hollered. Good times
