If I recall correctly Ging specifically said it was strike-type stuff he could copy after being hit by it, likely due to their relative simplicity; he can't just mimic everything he's hit by.

Edit: Though this might mean that, in theory, he could copy Ripper Cyclotron (Phinks's technique), assuming he survived it.

Do you think Ging was always a piece of poo poo or did he just really commit to roleplaying one after Netero made him the boar zodiac? Compared to the other Zodiacs, he doesn't look very much like his animal, but he teases Cheadle for slipping out of character so I kinda figured that he went all-in in adopting a boar-like personality (whatever that might be).

Nah he just did not care about changing his look to match the Boar or changing his personalty for it. Also he likes teasing his more serious co workers.

Ging and Pariston both already have good Boar and Rat personalities, and I imagine the other Zodiacs were likewise assigned their roles based on being at least somewhat appropriate for them. It's just the others loved Netero so much that they took it a step further with the appearance changes and stuff.

Break from the main story to talk more about what Gyro is doing, ending with "But it's still not time for him to be in the main story". Then another hiatus.

That's not his ability. He flatout says to Pariston he was putting on a show because of how obviously fake the attack was. He even tells Pariston if he wants to see his actual ability to do an attack himself next time. He is very likely an enhancer or emitter because of the ease he copies Leorios abilities.I'd lean towards Emitter though, because Leorios abilities have some manipulation aspects to them and it looks like he grasped that perfectly

I never said it was his ability. I was arguing the opposite, in fact; he copies simple, straightforward attacks because his understanding of and skill with Nen is great enough that he can figure out how they're done after seeing/experiencing them. It was other people saying that he could copy any Nen ability he was hit by, which is what I was trying to correct.

It's fine, I wasn't explicit there. I've been trying to be more succinct lately; usually I write... A lot (as my post history here would show) because I try to provide exacting detail, but it often winds up unnecessarily long. I went a bit too far the other way this time it seems.

That is a hell of a cliffhanger. Also, I like how this series can have the top law enforcement, like, anywhere, just walk up to one of the greatest assassins in the world and a member of one of the most dangerous groups of thieves, and the two have a casual conversation without conflict.

Man, though, that last page. I am so worried for her. Also what it might mean for Kacho's plan; did that already happen and we skipped over that part of it, or did she come here on her own? If the latter, why? She wouldn't have just abandoned her sister like that I thought, so...

I really hope this hiatus isn't a long one.

I imagine she was experimenting more with her power, and was the exit was in an unexpected place. We are still in the fourth day, there was no skip.

Right, thanks, I forgot that detail. Well then, yeah, that's interesting. Also probably really problematic; I really hope that this doesn't get her killed.

Hisoka as reported in the news as dead, so yeah, they know about the fight at least. What happened after that, probably not.

That'd really put a bummer on my headcanon this is a hisoka-zoldyck plot to kill the spiders which then gets hisoka promoted to the new monkey zodiac so he can join pariston and ging's clubhouse

He's still a Hunter, but he could reasonably fit within the "atrocities" exception as a legitimate hunting target. I assumed Mizaistrom deliberately chose to avoid fighting him, rather than not being allowed to fight him.

If you must blink, do it now.
Illumi's still a hunter, it's just that one of the candidates during the last chairman election was running on the platform of stripping hunters of their status who use it to commit heinous acts.

He's dead though so that probably isn't happening.

I really would like to see Ging as the main protagonist, if you can say HxH even has one. It's a manga that's willing and comfortable focusing on other characters for a very long time. Some long running shonen go generational, but it's always father to son Boruto stuff. I'd be interested in it going the other way. Gon never gets his powers back and we switch over to Ging who's searching for his father. We get to the new continent sometime in 2025 and eventually we find out what Grandpa Freecs has been up to and maybe follow him next.

The hunters association has always been very morally neutral. Netero didn't bat an eye at Hisoka getting his licence so he could get away with murder and at least 2 of the spiders had licenses.

Well, yes, they are hunters. If you want to hunt children (instead of viruses or other random crap) then you came to the right place (just beware of the members who hunt criminals). It's basically a mafia-style org anyways.
