Those fans aren't worth it; they move too much air for the bearings to actually be worth shelling out for. High airflow: get cheap, surprisingly quiet Enermax fans for a fifth of the price before sales. Low airflow, gently caress you it doesn't matter so long as you have a good controller or a board with pwm pins For $160 I could have bought a cheap rear end 5,000BTU air conditioner from Walmart and ducted it into the case for significantly greater performance. Guy is upsettingly bad at being a good and interesting attention whore

This was a decent enough flyby. Some elbows thrown here and there, and the Streetroller section was solid, but pretty light on substance overall. The big takeaway I think is that we see yet again the mainstreaming of cynicism about the project overall due to the history. I addressed this in a civil debate with Cymelion, who popped into a reply I had written in response to a now deleted post of praise about CIG’s openness. The fact that CIG seems to be trying to improve communications has been emboldening to some of the backers. I see that in the genuine optimism about CIG’s 3.1 handling. Positive though these changes are, it’s no small thing to dismiss all the sins of the past. It’s too much to ask or expect a clean slate after a good quarter. Roberts spoke of the need to earn back trust with backers and very well might make progress on that front over a year of quarterly releases. I don’t think it will be nearly so easy amongst the profane. Chris Roberts tells himself he hasn’t yet released anything so judgment should be withheld but he has and it won’t. And it’s not easy once you’re marked as a liar to win your way back into good graces even with a cadence of solid releases, as Sean Murray has found.
