I dislike show Benjy, he's not as funny as he thinks and he does schtick in the worst place possible. That said, I think I would enjoy talking to him without a camera or mic around. When he's "off", he's probably a lot better.

The modern Benjy segments aren't helped by Fred constantly playing the "Benjeeeeeeeeee" sound effect all of the time, as well as the clip of Benjy screaming. It's the same with a lot of the Gary segments. Fred just keeps playing the clip of Richard Simmons shouting Gary's name over and over again. They are all really distracting. I know people are joking about if she was a cat he would have paid for it but as cynical as Howard is, it's kind of uncommon for someone to have a big heart for helping animals but not caring about humans. Hell it's even possible he didn't know insurance wasn't covering it because why the hell would insurance not cover nurse care? (I already know the answer to this)
